Saga vs. Fd

I am in between Saga and FD for the same exact suit( yellow jacket, blue pants). And was wondering is the 100$ more for Saga worth it over the FD suit? I know everyone didn't like FD's suits last year, but they say they are much better this year. Saga has always had good rep. Any response would be appreciated!

Here are three generic NS responses that you're more than likely to receive:

Dude, FD sucks, my friend’s cousin’s brother’s friend had it and said it was garbage, definitely get saga. You'd be better off wearing a garbage bag than wearing FD, their shit falls apart in one day skiing. Get Saga, it’s so much cooler, IMO. (around 70% of the posts on this topic (% inflated by Kangbang posts))

FD and Saga are so overplayed, quit being such a trendwhore and buy something that isn’t so played. (around 10% of posts on this topic)

I don’t get why so many people hate on FD. I had their suit this past season and had no problems with it. It kept me warm and looked fresh. (around 20% of the posts on this topic)

id say go with which one you think is cooler, fd says they stepped it up alot this year

im taking there word for it, but others on this site definitely arnt

to be honest i dont really recall that, that being said i didnt really follow ANY of the first drop hype last year so i wouldnt know anyway

I've skied in both full Saga and FD suits and I have to say that Saga is on a whole new level compared the FD.

You could also look into other brands?

Both companies have really good outerwear. Personally I go with first drop.

how is that possible? what qualities are you looking for? low quality trendy start ups?

how about burton or trew or sessions or H/H or quicksilver or ripzone or patagonia or anything like that?

if you want high quality look for gortex or event or the new columbia fabric that is similar to event

Its more about that I am a tall skinny kid, so most outerwear makes me look fat. So when i buy tall outerwear it looks normal on me.

The waterproofing is shit for FD as always. I'd go with saga over FD. My saga pants are toasty and I'm sure the jackets will do the same. Also got to peep some of next years stuff from saga at hood. Its fucking nice.

Only Orage and a few Northface suits are cheaper. One article (pant or jacket) from Trew is the same as a full Saga suit. Thats what stopped me from buying Trew. I know they have a lifetime warrantee or whatever, but unless OP is not growing/content with the same gear for multiple years, its a huge waste of money.

That being said, if I had the $ for Trew, I would be ALLLL over it.
