I just saw this in chairlift diaries maybe 2012/2013 nordica skis...TJ pro model?

Full cap would be a terrible move on salomons part. They don't need more durability issues in their park ski line.

Russ Henshaw has a pro jacket for Völkl next year, it has zip off sleeves and i've seen three colorways so far:
Yellow/purple
Purple/green
Dark blue/yellow

It has a huge Völkl logo on the back though, i'm not really diggin that.

not to sound dickish but to quote iggyskiier:

"There is no comparison between sidewall and cap construction. Take this from someone who has build 50+ pairs of skis. Cap construction is crap. There is of course some unfortunate aspects of sidewall construction, as with anything. But most of those things are minor. The power transfer, feel, and durabilty of sidewall skis is much better. The negatives are minor, like topsheet chipping. If you like cap more, by all means ski cap skis. But trying to say that cap is superior to sidewall construction is bs."

Cap construction is used because it's cheaper than sidewall. most high end skis use a full sidewall contruction or a blend to reduce weight (armada for example)

Our World Cup GS skis are cap construction... all depends on how you make a ski and what you are looking to get out of it.

Looks like it says 179 on the side. and they look super wide I'd say 120 at least.

It's also why Marcel Hirscher is now the World Cup leader, on cap skis.

We use sidewall on our speed skis, sometimes cap depending on the course. Sidewall construction is used on harder, colder courses and Cap is used on warmer or choppy courses. They each have their benefits.

however Kers Technology (not from head, but used by head) is probably the most killer ski tech out right now!  Its in park snowboards, i am waiting for it in park skis, maby not for 2013 but soon!
