To let me get a gun for my 18th Birthday next year?

I was thinking of getting a AR-15 I've shot it plenty of times with family friends but My parents think it's unnecessary to have a gun around the house and there is no need for it But I'm thinking worst comes to worst If were in a disaster We have a better chance of surviving and if we see other people I would think they would take us in since we have weapons Idk I think it's a good idea, Cause the worlds kinda going to shit.

Show them you're ready to handle it properly, be sure to get all the necessary licensing, a vault, cleaning and care supplies. etc.

Also if you're not living in their house there it shouldn't be a problem, but I assume you are otherwise this wouldn't be an issue.

get a locking gun case for it and i would imagine a lot of hesitation will be pulled back by them. half the battle is they probably just dont want an unlocked weapon sitting in a drawer or in the corner of your room for anyone to get their hands on. if its securely locked up and only you and your parents know the combo, it will ease a lot of worries. better yet just get a vault for it. then you can keep your skrilla in with it.

If you really believe in that crap, you and my uncle would be best friends. he's got a years supply of food in a shed and a years supply of bullets for his numerous guns. He is convinced that something huge is going to happen and we will all be cut off from everything or something. i kind of stopped listening to him after a while.

If you will be living with your parents you should respect their rules. If you really wanna rebel against them, get the gun and keep it in your car or at a friends house.

It's their house, it's their rules. Respect that and be grateful. Good luck though and ^gun locking closet is a good idea

Pretty sure you want to spend way too much money on a gun to brag to your friends. You don't need an assault rifle. The only logical gun to have around a house is a hand gun with hollow tips or a shotgun thats used for sport purposes. WTF are you gonna do with an assault rifle? go to a shooting range, spend a shit ton on ammo, shoot it for an hr then wait 2 months to save up your allowance to buy more ammo so you can go again? buy something cool with your money, something useful, not a fucking AR-15.

I might be doing 1 year of Junior college to stay home for a little, But I'm going to Oregon for college for sure, So I might get it myself In oregon and If Shit hit's the fan I can save my fam or try at least (;

Two things to consider:

1: Is owning an AR-15 necessary?

and

2: Is owning a gun necessary at all?

believe it or not, but shits not gonna go down where you require a weapon of that sort. Just chill and get something cool, like a new pair of skis, a bike etc something good, but without the purpose of taking the life of, or seriously injuring a human being. (Come on, who on earth uses an AR-15 to hunt). Or if you like hunting, get a nice rifle instead

Its has nothing to do with a high horse, it has everything to do with you being a fucking idiot. A car is the last place you should leave an ASSAULT RIFLE that even if you had a permit for, would be illegal to just have in your car. I don't think you can even get a concealed weapons permit for an assault rifle and you can even get a concealed permit til you're 21. Your suggestion was unintelligent and ignorant as fuck. I own three handguns and about a dozen longarms for sporting and hunting. But please keep thinking that Canadians don't own a ton of guns.

I can also buy variants of OPs 'assualt rifle' because their fucking fun to shoot (see recent Toronto Star newbie shooters experience) and are legitimate hunting guns if that's your style (not mine)

Also Op's reason for getting a rifle doesn't really seem that legit. This sounds like sort of a big dick adventure. You need to calm down and sit back and realize that most likely that sort of situation won't happen in your lifetime and if it does there are a ton of places you could probably scrounge up a gun or two.

Please don't be that doomstay trigger happy paranoid type of gun owner, it looks bad on all of us.

the whole apocolyptic thing isnt a very impressive reason and i'm all for guns. tell them you've shot your friends, and it was an enjoyable experience with safety being priority number one. then find a way to secure it so noone can just walk in and grab it.

Go to the range when and shoot some guns, talk to them about the permit process and all of that and try and get a deal with a gun, ammo and a safe. Get something reasonable like a smaller hand gun.

heres an idea. ask em for a BB gun cause you prob live in fuckin suburbia and just want a damn machine gun to add to your wanna be gangster attitude. i actually shoot guns and my brother asked if he could buy like an assult rifle and he said no cause your parents reasons. theres no reason to have a machine gun when you live in the city... if you really want a gun, get a shotgun and shoot trap. or just get a fleshlight cause youll prob use that more

I agree, having an Assault Rifle is completely unnecessary to begin with, and on top of that hiding it in your car is completely stupid. If you got pulled over and the cops searched your car you would be in big shit.

Also, just join the military if you feel like you need such weapons.
