The story on the radio last night about the autistic kid that took up kicking in football made me cry. Then the story on the radio this morning about this police officer who bought boots for a homeless man also made me cry. Are these stories exceptionally inspirational, or am I a basketcase?

No its nice to just hear some people doing good things on the news/radio instead of hearing about shootings, crack heads, and tragedy. The world needs more nice stories. Was the autistic kid for football on ESPN? I saw something about a story called "Kicking for Hope" but there was no sound in the bar, looked like the story you described.

AND fuck companies that dont provide references for previous employees.

I heard it played on Kiro Radio, but I just googled and yes, it was ran on ESPN under Kick of Hope. I have no sound at work so I don't know if the video I posted above has the audio that I had heard on the radio-- but if it does it's really heartwarming to hear the dad and the son speak.

Yes I agree-- temp/contractor employees get completely screwed over. If you're hired through a temp agency to work for a company-- say Microsoft-- Microsoft is not allowed to provide a reference for you. You can only get a reference from the temp agency that you went through. Which doesn't make ANY sense, because they never see you/worked with you and have no idea what you were like on the job.

Use a comb and comb it out, then put an ice cube up to it until the ice cube melts or until you can't handle it anymore. Then comb it out even more. It has worked for me when I did it the night of.

im not suicidal or anything but it amazes me to see the amount of sadness in the world. everybody deserves a happy life.

i cant stand to watch a kid ive grown up alongside being put down by people he thinks care about him. the kid has had nothing but good intentions his entire life, but due to the social handicap his mental disability causes, nobody sees his intentions, they only see what he actually does.

for gods sake the kid values his friends more than most people value their parents... yet his "friends" just talk shit about him behind his back. he would never do that to them... hes the most loyal friend i know.

it fucking breaks my heart.

Sad that the family biz is losing one of our top notch workers to another job, I don't know why but that was a really tough goodbye on Friday. Like felt worse then any breakup I've ever been a part of. I work with a small crew though so were like family out on that shop floor; and we do an amazing job of keeping our sanity though ridiculous humour, and he was a big part of that. I will keep in touch with that 6'6" frame of awesomeness though, he may be supplying me with some local chords of poplar for ski building one day in the near future.

Stoked on ***SteezeWhiz***s yard setup though. Rode there for 3 hours today and had a blast. Tried some gypsy real skifi stuff and then finally landed a really shitty, but my first 2' out. Hoping to improve them next session. Also had a good time filming from the top of the extension ladder to.

And Casper, that really sucks man. Nothing worse then seeing good people get shit on. At least you have a good perspective on the scenario though.

Hang in there bud. I was there a few weeks ago, I lost her and I didn't even do anything.. Now I look back and it was probably for the best. My life has so many options and I can pretty much do anything now, nobody else to worry about and just me. While you are scared and worried you would lose her, know that if you do there are good things that can come of it. Hang in there, no matter the result find the positives in the situation.

i'm not quite sure what it is. i think it's more of an attention disorder but he has something and it leads to him being a little bit awkward in social situations. because of it people think he's annoying and that he cuts into other peoples business but in reality he always has good intentions whether its trying to make someones day better or trying to fill someone in on something that he thinks is really cool.

thats where it also shows, because he has a set of interests thats very uncommon... so when he thinks something is cool and when he tries to show other people they just shrug it off with the preconceived notion that it won't be interesting, and then they use that to support their reasoning for why he's "annoying"

and yeah IndianTears, chances are if the girl is causing you this much stress you'll be better off without her. don't know if we talked about it but i broke up with that girl i'd been dating for 2 and a half years recently. can't say it made me feel happy, but it made me realize that if you're constantly worried about losing them then they're not the right one for you. one day you'll find someone who's fun to be around and chill and a complete stress-reliever, and you won't have to worry about if you're making them happy or if you're good enough for them or anything. that's what it's all about.
