connecticuntToo right. Same thing happened to me beginning of last winter with my heat not working, thought to myself, well a couple of tabs might take my mind off it.
Someone in my lab just poured concentrated ammonia down a sink outside a fume hood, right by where I was working. It's been 20 minutes and the area still smells too much of ammonia to go back to.

I can see the ammonia has had a cerebral effect on you already.
i like newschoolers because it's a bunch of people that froth skiing. none of my friends are really that crazy about it anymore so it's nice to have a community such as this. thanks newschoolers.
Every day when I wake up and realize I have PChem I get angry. Then, in class the anger subsides as the soporific effect the class has on me begins. I can literally feel the effects of presumably melatonin in how my head feels only during this class.

If you have a cold a quick sniff will certainly clear you up for a bit. inb4 asian lab partner too.

P chem is highly interesting.
Yes it was an Asian, it was also P-chem.
I fucking hate p-chem labs. We have to work in teams, and apparently there's an inverse relationship between competence and eagerness to help. That's not to say to say that competent people don't do anything, it's just the incompetent people rush ahead and can't think.
So today we were running UV-vis samples of a gold colloid complex we spent all morning (and most of the afternoon) making, and halfway through one of my team members (Asian, of course) decides to empty out a cuvette and run another baseline without cleaning the cuvette. She ran a baseline scan on a pink liquid, and didn't tell anyone. As a result I spent about an hour wondering why none of our spectra were coming out as planned, and now we have to do all the spectra again because all the important ones have been fucked up.
Oh, then she got like 50ml of gold solution and chucked it down the sink. You know if you made a solid block of all the gold that's ever been mined it would fit under the arches of the Eiffel Tower several times? Well some of it is now lost in the sewers at the University of Sheffield chemistry department.
I know I should go to class because I have an academic warning for missing so much of this one class, but I just made a pot of mashed potatoes and eating them seems like a much better use of my time.

Know that feel. Bring the potatoes and go to class, m9.
Life is a lot better with extra cash... I believe and respect that people can be happy without a lot of money, and that money doesn't buy happiness, but holy fuck life is so much easier with money.
Supposedly they're gonna try around the same time tomorrow.
Now I'm curious to see who was the guy who parked his board downrange. He was probably totally unaware of this. I don't know much about boats, but wouldn't they issue some sort of warning to all craft or something?
Hoping to take a trip to Italy at the end of March. Anybody know how to get there the cheaply and efficiently? I live in Whitefish, Montana but could drive to Seattle, Calgary, or any cities within reasonable distance.

If you are not flying often you will have no award miles and you probably don't have enough time to grab some credit card miles so no need to take that in account.
Cheapest is to fly to any NY airport and then take a flight to Germany with a connecting flight to Italy, the US-GER route is usually the cheapest (Or US-ESP but then the flight to IT will be more expensive, so in most cases GER will win out)
If you fly from JFK to Dusseldorf with Air Berlin and then Dusseldorf to let's say Milan with Air Berlin that will be roughly € 400 for a return. I'm not really versed on inter-USA-traffic but considering that Calgary is not a big hub your best bet will be to go from Seattle to NY, which will probably be around 250-300 for a return.
If you want to spend money there are flights that go straight from Milan, or just be a baller and travel First.
