this online application says it cannot be hand written. But at the end it asks for a signature. Do I type my name and claim it as a signature? Or do i upload a picture of my signature? Or am I over thinking this?

most pdf editors now allow you to add a signature. Preview on a mac makes it super easy.
The other option is to print it, sign it and can it.

Today I had two sample tubes, one containing about a gram of my product (2-methyl-cyclohexanone) and another empty, for preparing an nmr. I took a tiny drop of product and put it in the empty sample tube (really small bottle), then added precisely 1 mL chloroform. I replaced the lid and shook it to mix, and put it back down in the fume hood.
While I was preparing my NMR tube, a chinese mouthbreather reached over and knocked over both my sample tubes. Since they got mixed I didn't know which one contained the NMR sample and which my product.
To tell the difference I made the really sensible decision of smelling them*, And I took in a nice big breath of chloroform.
It stings the nostrils.

Chemists of pwoym unite! I know this feel. Hint: don't sniff to see which is your ammonia base buffer. Ever.
Also, do you have chinese kids who just should never ever be anywhere near a lab? Is that a universal occurrence?
One kid in my inorganic lab literally ruined something every time. I was trying to make ferrocene. So I grinded up some ferrous chloride. I was trying to add it to some DMSO or something, then add it. He adds it right into the reaction vessel, and spills half of it in the process.
There was another girl who, any time I tired to fill any sort of flask, she'd get really close to it to make sure I was hitting the mark. Like, goggles touching the flask close. Then I had to sit and run an FTIR spec while two chinese girls were failing to speak to and understand each other in english. Pretty sure the girl who gets real close to my volumetrics also read "add dropwise" as "add all in one drop." That ended well.
