As always, producers who see any signs of illness in their pigs should notify their herd veterinarian immediately to address the issue.
PEDV does not affect pork safety. Pork remains completely safe to eat.

I found it odd that bacon would cause the shits... generally it gets fried and any bacteria is cooked off quick. so many other foods can potentially have molds I would guess it was something else. Or you caught a stomach bug. I am no doctor though and am just guessing

i was reading that silly facebook article and was like well shit, because... for 3 nights in a row i had bacon. one night the bacon was less cooked than the other nights because thats just how i prefer my bacon cooked (cooked but not crispy). After every night I got a roaring stomach ache after dinner. But it was something else then I guess. Hm.
