MinggI work at panera and today my brother and his whore of a wife and kids came in. I haven't seen my brother in fucking years. He hasn't called or said anything to any of us since my dad bailed him out of jail. I don't even think he recognized me at first. But it's fucking great to know he's still doing heroin and coke with 3 kids(arent his) and 2 of his own. What a piece of fucking shit.

I am about to leave my current place of employment, which is a federal government agency. Here are some issues going on in my current agency, which maybe I can bring some light to now that I wont be an employee of theirs and wont have a risk of getting fired:
-Many positions are advertised and claim that you must join the union within 60 days of employment, and that you do not have a choice.
This is illegal, you can't force someone to join a union. The most you can do is force them to pay for any services that the union provides them.
-My employer discriminates against union staff. If you start in a union position you are automatically started at step 1. There is no ability to negotiate starting salary, and no one starts above step 1. However, in our nonunion positions, it isn't at all unusual for someone to start at the 70-80th percentile of the pay range. Additionally, my union has had its pay steps (merit increases) frozen for 7 years now. That means that none of us have received a raise in 7 years. Meanwhile-- non bargaining unit staff continue to receive pay-for-performance merit increases.
-My employe false advertises. When I applied for my job there was a salary range posted of 24-32/hr. I was also told that I would move up a pay step (2.5%) every year. I was not told at the time of my hire (5.5 years ago), that the pay steps were frozen. I have never had the ability to move up in the pay range. The pay range should not exist or be advertised if a staff member has no ability to move up the range, or to negotiate above starting salary. Yet, my employer hasn't removed these pay ranges from their advertised jobs, despite the fact that the steps have been frozen for 7 years and that they have no intention on ever unfreezing them.
So in my agency, anyone who is not in the union receives merit increases every year. Meanwhile, the union employees--many of them performing similar jobs and similar work have received nothing.
What can I do to bring justice to the staff that still work there and continue to get discriminated against, or to the people that are applying to work at this agency who believe that the advertised salary ranges are accurate? Anyone in here a lawyer that could give advice?
