Thizzle.u square I haven't slept since thursday night and I'm at work. Just got back from a bowl and beer break at home after deliveries and am sticking it out till 5:30 here at the seafood shop drinking some Olympia with my coworker. Fuckin game day.
YOU SHOULD PROBABLY SLEEP. I'm hitting up the game for a bit, gonna try and snag a shirt, a picture then bouncing. I don't want to effort today.
last_tangoIve been working as a lift operator for 4 years and helping out lift maintinance operating lifts for them. I know how lifts work but havent done anything like rebuild a grip or changed out a sheave wheel before. Primaraly looking to get hired on as muscle and a be a extra hand at first. I have climbed lift towers before to replace singage. Ill stop by monday morning.
Its worth talking to him at least. Most of the positions we need to fill are mechanic spots but a couple helpers are experienced enough to get promoted to mechanic and you could fill that helper position. Most of the lifts are done by now but this time of year is when big stupid projects start like motor pulls, splices and load tests
Skiing is very important to me. I am going to describe a chair of the chairlift that I ride up, and the sights and sounds of the ride up.
It is early in the morning. The ski area opened ten minutes ago. Not many people are here yet, and not very many people are on the chairlift. I am alone on a chair.
Sitting on this chair is very peaceful. The chair is made out of wood, with a steel frame holding it onto the cable that moves it up the hill. The wood and frame are covered in blue paint, similar to the color of the sky except darker. It is a chair built to be able to carry three people.
The ride up is pretty quiet. There is a slight breeze blowing through the spruce trees. Even the trees are chilly on this bitterly cold morning. I am still happy to be sitting on this cold wooden seat though. The beauty of the sun rising in the sky is one of the reasons that I pay no mind to the freezing air seeping into my lungs.
I see a skier going down the run to the right of me, called Continental. He is thirty feet below me but I can still hear every single turn that he carves into the snow. He looks cold too, I am not the only one.
Though I cannot see it, on my left I hear the sound of a snowboard hitting a metal rail. I guess Micaiah got here early today, also. I adjust my helmet and hat as I imagine my next run down the hill, I think I will go over to Sunnyside and join Micaiah in the terrain park.
Behind me is the towering, three story chalet. Smoke is billowing out of the chimney from the fireplaces on the first, second, and third floors. They must be burning wood from a maple tree, because it smells good. Beyond the chalet is the parking lot. As I am looking back I see a red Mitsubishi 3000GT pull up. I recognize that car. Devin is here!
A snowmobile is moving rapidly up Continental. The sound of the two-stroke engine is loud and you can smell the fumes from the oil and gasoline mixture being burned. It must be the manager, Dan, going to make sure everything is running properly at the ski area.
You hear a squeak, squeak, squeak and feel a bump, bump, bump as the blue chair goes over the wheels that are holding the chair high above the ground. Looking up at the cable holding the chair, some people might wonder how it can hold up all that weight. It has about an inch and a half diameter of pure iron. Needless to say, it has no trouble holding the chair and me up.
We are getting near the top. The lift operator at the top of the hill is raking the snow on the unloading ramp. He is bundled up in a Carhart coat and snow pants, with a fur hat on his head.
My skis are starting to feel heavy. I slide my left ski across my right one to push off the snow that built up on it from my last run. I slide my right ski across my left for the same purpose. I inspect the loud and colorful design of my twin tip skis. I read the word ‘Domain’ on one of the skis. That is the name that the producer of the skis-K2-gave them. My purple Saga sticker is starting to wear off my right ski because of the elements of nature. I am thankful that my Saga snow pants and jacket are keeping me from turning into an ice cube.
Looking down below me I see diamonds sparkling in the snow. I see the shadow of the chair I am on, and myself. I put one ski up, and my shadow does the same. I cross my skis, the shadow follows suit.
I have met many new people on this chair. I have also had many good times with friends here. This is my place of escape, a place where I can relax and forget about all my troubles. I have made this short journey on the blue chair hundreds, if not thousands of times. The crispness of the air, the beauty of my surroundings, and the calmness of the environment of the hill never gets old. I will continue riding this chair as long as I live.

nää, jag fixade flyg rätt så billigt, det var verkligen en spur of the moment grej, satt på jobbet och ba "okej... lets do this!" haha.

Hade en så jävla nice kväll igår, vi var på Golden Best records fest på deras nya båt som de skaffat haha, Dim Out, Alaska och Joy uppträdde (och på kvällen hälsade Johan från Movits/Alaska på oss för att han kände igen oss från tidigare, fick ett hederligt, underbart Norrländskt "Tjääääääna" på tunnelbanan av honom hahaha)
