I mean factually the Untied States does have a lot of school shootings. if your telling your cousins anything else your lying to them. Since 2009 The unite states has had 14times as many school shootings per capita then the next highest country (Mexico). This year there has been 58 school shootings, last year it was 82. and these don't include all the other mass shootings. Just because you've never experienced one doesn't meant they aren't very common compared to other countries (especially Europe).
Also literally 35-40% of Americans are obese (not over weight, obese) most of Europe is around 20-25% (15% in Netherlands) so for them America has more the twice as many obese people.
Europeans love to shit on Americans for being fat and shooting each other and its overplayed and obnoxious. That being said, Americans are fat a shoot each other a lot.

Our seasons are longer but conditions are mostly the same. Flat parts have temperatures bouncing on both sides on freezing point so everything is ice. worst case scenario is weather going from +5c and rain to -15c and back in few days. North is windy so few days after snow you are most likely going to ski on ice if you want to go off-piste.
