I miss my fliphone days, if I a smartphone wasn't so damn useful for flying/school, I'd still be on that train. I've thought about getting one of these little buggers: https://getbrick.app/shop , but I'm more tired of social media/culture in general, than simply cheesed about loss of productivity during the day. It's funny (or maybe scary?) that I've managed to quit cigarettes with minimal issues, but self-regulating my social media usage is much more difficult.

Thats probably why you are addicted to the reels. The best way to get out of the habit is to set a time where you can look at it. Set aside like 20 mins a day where you are free to look at it and then no more. Overtime you will not miss it.

Oh for sure. For me to successfully kick an addiction, I've gotta remove all access to it. (i.e. I wasn't able to quit smoking until I ran out of $$ a week before payday and just couldn't buy darts. That first week sucked but it's been smooth sailing since). I've deleted the app before, and used screen time limiting software several times, but it's like trying to quit smoking while carrying a pack around in your pocket. I'm just gonna have to bite the bullet, and make a conscious effort to keep in touch with my friends, (which is probably a good thing to practice).

delete from your phone and just log on computer whenever you want to use it. i've only been on it like 3 times in the past two months (not by choice - my parents don't let me have it and I have to find rare times when I can use it lol) and it's lowkey chill.

And I did actually post something positive lil over week ago which was about me realising how much I love the peace and quiet of countryside while I was walking trough the fields to one our fireplaces.

Slowly realizing that I could take over for my shop safety instructor and teach the class so much better than him. He's not a bad dude, he's just completely useless as an instructor for anything, much less an absolutely critical subject like safety. At this point he's just passing his complacent attitude to the rest of my classmates, who in a few years I'm gonna have to work with, or fly the damn airplanes they're working on.
