Jemsi should’ve put some respect on the goth kids in high school. i wasn’t that different from them, i guess i just didn’t wear spikes, platform boots and weird clothing generally.
KungKalmarAlso why the fuck does @BallClapper have the piss name??

BradFiAusNzCoCaHas anyone seen that Robitussin soft chews commercial where the girl is tubing (it looks like NZ landscape) and trying to pour the syrup in the cup (while tubing) and then the ski jumper (as in distance) comes up next to her (in mid air) and says try the chews?
What were they thinking. What a stupid commercial.
oh, also, this was a commercial on ESPN for Alabama vs S. Carolina. As in people who rarely, if ever, can relate to snow.

ReturnToMonkeyThis is awesome to hear as a mech eng degree holder. I got it in '22 and haven't done anything related to engineering in two years, partly due to not wanting to relocate. Well now I do want to relocate and get an engineering job next year. The other thing I want to do is apply to Officer Training School and hopefully become a military flight officer. Im probably hosed...

Lenny-10 years ago @Laurent. "pretty much one of the most sophisticated people on this site" was posting threads where they sympathized with female teachers having sex with underage students, biased off how attractive the teacher is. I'm not one to get mad at shit people did 10+ years ago, just made me giggle.
partyandBSthis is so relevant because nothing has changed in the last 10 years and everyone on here is exactly the same as they were then and haven’t matured at all.
anyway gonna throw on my first drop tall tee and go listen to bassnectar at the skate park before i have to do my homework.

Laurent.I think it was quite clear on numerous occasions based on the ridiculous stories that I posted that the vast majority of posts by this account were not to be taken seriously, they were crafted to highlight the increasingly unhinged tendencies of the macho culture here. Through exaggeration and absurdity, I mirrored the obsession with hot takes and where performative outrage are worn like badges of honor. The more extreme the stance, the more rewarded you got by this echo chamber, driven purely by a need for validation rather than genuine discourse. My posts became a reflection of this behavior, illustrating the bizarre lengths people will go to for attention in this circle, while also farming karma from the very system that encourages this macho cycle.
There was no end goal to this, no grand message or deeper philosophy behind the satire. It was simply an exercise in watching the spectacle unfold—feeding into this macho culture for its own sake. The reactions themselves became the focus, revealing how easy it is to spark outrage or approval without real substance.
It wasn’t about changing minds or shifting perspectives, but about showcasing how this macho craving for validation perpetuates itself endlessly.
CeleryAny Maine people ever skied Big Rock mountain in Mars hill? It's got 1000 ft of vert and is in the middle of nowhere, seems like maybe a good pow day option
