My very athletic, very pretty friend is looking for a nice young lad (ages 21 - 25) in the Southwest to go on some adventures with.
She enjoys Ska beers on the summit, organizing things, and pushing her body to extremely intense limits.
She is an accomplished runner and extremely talented skier with numerous mountaineering accomplishments under her belt. She has extensive avalanche knowledge and is extremely fast on the skin track. She is also a fearless climber and will absolutely establish a top rope for you in exchange for a decent belay.
She is extremely pretty to the point where I have watched men literally come running to meet her.
Below you will find her Strava data for the last few months....SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY PLEASE.....I cannot tolerate any more shenanigans
(Pls help I cannot tolerate the men she is currently considering)
I was gonna suggest me, which was going to be funny, because I'm only 17 and hate running and in the northeast, but then I saw you said only serious inquiries, so I will not suggest myself.

Thank you for your restraint. Your maturity will make some woman very happy someday
BallClapperStraight facts. Might look at you a few times and thats it.
some do, but most expect you to shoot. That said, there have been times where glaring sexual tension overtakes all and you both shoot your shot at the same time and then decide to spend the next few days together. Love is awesome, sucks when it ends, but for the first bit, goddamn, what a feeling.

Starting to think something about me is off-putting. like, even making new friends can be difficult.

it's probably all in your head, biggest thing is just shut up and listen. Listen to people, listen more, ask questions about someone, when you talk to people, and they listen, you feel that they care, then flip the script. Realize that it is more important to listen than speak and then people will like you more.

As a member of the Horny Police Force, I'm going to have to pull the plug on this.

Don worry about making new friends. 98% of the guys my age only care about fantasy football and golf
Make sure you’re eating enough food, ur diet is balanced, and you’re getting enough vigorous exercise. Helps make ur mental goblins go away and less anxious overall
Eat a lot of good food, getting back to exercise (injury.) Also, part of me doesn't really care to make friends, like I like the idea just hard to maintain.

Anyone ever thought about living in a camping trailer? Not to hyped about paying rent when I move back out west next summer, thinking about getting a small travel trailer and posting up on BLM land when I'm working, and travelling on my days off. Curious if any of yall have done the same.

i knew a guy who lived in a tour bus rv and pulled his tacoma and sled and had 2 spots on a forest service road in breck that he would alternate between. it was cool but he was crazy lol. he believed any and every conspiracy theory. 9/11, flat earth, dia is for lizard people, etc. so if you do it, just know you’re gonna turn into ahmet by february

I wonder if people make moves like that cause they're crazy, or if they become crazy because they make moves like that. I mean I am ok with it if I at least get ahmet's skiing skills.

Had a buddy do this with his long term GF in a tow behind camper. Said it was tough, especially because theirs didn't have a shitter/shower. climbing gyms/truck stops get old after a while
Then she decided that she was poly 4 years into the relationship and wanted to fuck their climbing buddy they met in Squamish. He said no but she fucked him anyways and moved into a poly commune/cult type thing in San Francisco and refused to give him access to the camper so he could sell it.
So make sure you get a camper with a shitter in it I guess idk man

Probably both. I know sane people that have opted to camp at the mountain because they worked up there and there was no housing. Also know a guy that started camping in his car because he became a paranoid schizophrenic

Shitter/shower is on the list of must-haves for sure, "poly" gf not so much.

I wonder if the isolation of that type of life has something to do with it. Not talking to anyone outside of work, living out in the bush and doing a bunch of drugs seems like a bad combo.

1spliff2guinniesI'm going to therapy for the first time and I'm nervous
don't be. i've never been but my friends who do it seem to seriously like it. i picked a buddy up from it one day and you would've thought he had just gotten a massage haha he was more relaxed than i'm used to seeing him
1spliff2guinniesI'm going to therapy for the first time and I'm nervous
Understandable, opening up to someone in that kind of situation can be uncomfortable, especially if you've never done it before. Don't pressure yourself to dump everything out at once, often it can take several sessions to open up all the way. Remember, going to therapy is not a sign of weakness. It takes courage to stand up and ask for help.
1spliff2guinniesI'm going to therapy for the first time and I'm nervous
what makes you nervous about it? everything you say has to stay private per client confidentiality provisions. are you nervous to actually acknowledge part of you that you’ve kept hidden or something??
therapy saved my fuckin life when i was trying to end it all. i was lucky to have a great therapist who was also a babe (guess i respond better to that lmao) but if the first therapist you see isn’t a good fit, get another one. ive had some where i was just a paycheck or we didnt connect which was partly because i was lying to myself at that point. its important that they are giving you tools to use and its not just a vent session for you so ask for tools if you feel you aren't getting them.

I have a friend with a conspiracy theorist dad. I like him a lot, he lets us shoot his guns and he's super entertaining lol. crazy shit though, his source for a lot of it is a YouTube video LOL. but fun fact, flat earthers (ice wall variant idk all the theories) aren't afraid of nuclear war, they think it will never happen. so at least they have a positive outlook on life in that regard. anyways they are chill even if a little estranged from reality.
I started therapy this year. I think everyone should go tbh. I had a lot of ingrained bias against it even up until a few years ago. Really stupid on my part. Massively helpful but don’t be surprised if a lot more starts popping up than you expected.

applied to a civil / structural engineering job with doppelmayr and they ghosted my ass…. bro i know how you guys make the lifts. ive built one for you. gimme a chanceeee
if i dont get an engineering job with a ski lift manufacturer / somewhere else in the ski industry i will be a ski bum once again this season. potentially a terrible career move for me…?

not at all given the times. election years always carry economic uncertainty. therefore companies are hesitant to hirer right now. additionally, the northeast had 2 challenging winters in a tow while the west went from soo much snow they couldnt open to so little snow it was shitty. also post covid had a bunch of hype to get outside and do things and now we are seeing a reduction in participation in the outdoor/travel/leisure sector. all of these factors mean that ski companies are likely tight on budgets and not investing as much. therefore i would imagine there are less engineering jobs in the ski industry right now making the ones that are posted more competitive to obtain.
what i would do if i was you is 1 keep applying for those engineer jobs all winter and 2 ask a manufacturer you want to work for who they would recommend as a ski resort lift maintenance team to work for. this will lead you to a team with strong leadership and you might be able to interact with the manufacturers more and network with them. alternatively, you could get on a lift maintenance team at a resort that has known lift capital projects to also network with the manufacturers. deer valley has a huge expansion so could be a starting point. im sure there are a few other resorts who have mentioned next summers lift projects already as well.
but if the gap in your resume comes up you can say you were uncertain due to the economics and it was safer to work a seasonal job than to risk being the new guy who instantly gets laid off for down sizing.
this is good advice! i know doppelmayr has committed to expanding their offices in slc. deer valley expansion is ongoing and tbh i could continue building lifts there all winter if i wanted… but 60 hour weeks are brutal. I will continue to apply for those jobs and get my networking up too.

I've gotta caution you against doing this. Your engineering degree effectively has an expiration date for your first job. Taking one year off after college is usually ok, but two years is pushing it. Nobody wants to hire an engineer then have to re-teach them statics and strength of materials. Especially with the job market slowing, you might find yourself getting passed over for kids fresh out of college for the limited jobs. In that case you'd have to go to grad school to kinda reset things otherwise you'll be shut out from engineering jobs
I think you're best off getting any engineering job for now then leaving in 1-2 years if you can get a ski industry engineering job
