I have tattoos. I love them.
That said, why get chinese characters? If you want it to say something, say it in English, or whatever your first language is. Unless you're chinese, have a close connection to the land/mountains there etc. can speak it or are marrying someone sho is/can I say don't. Most people with them can't even read it, which is just silly to me. Why not get it in sandscrit? Or Russian?
If you want something that looks cool, get something artsy that appeals to you. If you want to say something, just fucking say it.
I know a kid who is such a tool. Total story-teller hanger-on-type who was always trying way too hard. Sketchy fucker too, always telling useless lies and pulling sketchy shit like stealing peoples' phones, taking nugs from open bags etc. because he thought is was badass or cool or something. Motherfucker gets "Honesty" and "Integrity" on his inner biceps and has chinese symbols for all kinds of poetic shit all over him like it means something.
Don't be like that guy and get something that will blow the minds of those around you in a bad way- you know, something that shows just how clueless you are about who you actually are as a person? I usually put Chinese characters in the same group- people who express themselves in a language they can't read because it looks cool seem to always have that blank-stare introspective quality to them that I can't take for more than 5 mins.
But hey, if you really want 'em fuck what anybody thinks I guess. It's your skin. :)
