No, I don’t hate Barcelona, I dislike them, why?
Well the word I'd use to describe Barcelona starts with the same letter but instead of the predictable brilliant I chose boring. That's nothing to take away from the fact that they are amazing and currently the best footballteam in the world with the best player.
But yes I find them boring, they aren't expected to win like other good teams. No, they have already won before a match has even been played, they are an almost unstoppable force and therefore they are boring. I go completely OCD over the pencils in my drawer, they have to be in order and aligned properly but outside of that I like a bit of chaos. If everything was always in order they world would be a very dull place, it’s more interesting embracing the unknown than making calculated and deliberate actions toward a preconceived outcome.
When you watch Barcelona you get everything you expect, stellar passing, great teamwork and a businesslike fashion in which they make goals and that's what annoys me, there is no surprise, no sense of occasion. That’s why I like Zlatan, he is unpredictable, he is chaos, he is the opposite of Messi, who always comes across as the perfect son in law with an unblemished track record, if he had an autobiography I highly doubt it would be as interesting as Zlatan’s. both are the sides of the same coin as are Eros and Thanatos. This conflict between the two also reflects in they way that they score, Messi makes good goals but they almost all seem to come forth as intended, like a training exercise. Zlatan’s goals are often amazing because they are so bloody random. Zlatan’s unpredictability can also makes him the best player in the world ever for a single match, every once in 30 or 40 or more matches. Remember the game against England last year?
It’s the consistency of Barcelona and Messi that annoys me, there’s no fun in predictability, I have respect for them but to me Barcelona is boring. Also I don't link diving, but that's a Spanish thing and because the FIFA views innovation in the same way the Islam views a bid'ah I don't see a videoref coming anytime soon, so I've gotton used to it.
