Just set mini goals for yourself each day you ski, you dont need to set something like a backie or whatever every time. It helps with me at least whenever I am there. I still have yet to fully explore baldy and all those goodies off the ridge + a hundred other shots in LCC. Make a plan to try and ski something new there everyday.
I probably should have texted my boss back the other day to say no when he asked if i wanted some more overtime, instead he just went ahead and decided for me that id be okay with having like a day off in the next two or so weeks.
Its all good, I got an interview monday elsewhere.
Everytime we try to plan urban it goes one of 2 ways, we actually commit and go, or everyone bails and says they're tired or wanna drink, fucks sake theres not always snow in the valley
The guys I ski with are all people I've met this season and beginning of last season. Honestly, just make friends on the slopes and then roll with your crew. I'm 22 and have gf so I also feel the not going out part

Custom stiff kartels 108's are honestly almost too burly for me to handle. Feels like I put my legs in a meat grinder after skiing powder for a day with these things.

I get this feeling every now and again. Sometimes I’m in the mood to go out and shit and other times I think to myself nah im alright with just staying home, going out seems super lame. Usually my funds dictate what mood I’m in. There’s really no point in going out multiple times a week, it’s just a waste of money.
It also depends who’s around me, when my friends are all at college I don’t have much interest at all I’m going out but when they are home I’m down for anything all the time. Was on a borderline bender during Christmas break, don’t know how I came out of that one on top lol
2nd avy death in 24 hours here in Utah happened today. The other one occurred on the 7th and they found his body yesterday down south. The victim didnt have a beacon nor the group he was with didnt have any S&R skills. The one today was a father-son tandem with some friends, slab broke above the father that was pretty deep and I think he unfortunately passed away this evening. Had a beacon but the party also didnt have search skills.
Super sad, and we're at a rate of losing at least one person a week so far. Please make smart decisions, ski fam.
Haha we couldn't even get out of the parking lot for 30-40 min at Boreal yesterday cause half the cars in front of us decided to stop and wait out the storm on the only way out (roads towards Sac on the 80 were still open).

Cause usually our ride breaks start at like 11, when itll be sunny but also PC will be shithoused, sleeper pow day today but many knew, so itll be skied out quick but I also covered for someone who went home early today so maybe I can milk a few hours off, I have Tuesday Wednesday off but not gonna have fresh stuff

This post got me thinking and if I’m ever in the situation where I’m in a hotel/resort and walk in on somebody berating a front desk employee to just rip them apart and tell them everything the employee has in the back of their head. Blows my mind how fucking stupid people are.
Also just had about 50 Ariana grande fan accounts try to roast me over something I retweeted on Twitter. 2019 is a fucking weird time man.
Tons of snow here, more systems rolling in throughout the week/weekend, almost guaranteed we'll have at least another 3-4ft by the weekend. These past two weeks have just been planning and logistical nightmares on the part of Groups coming in and out, Sundance, The World Championships being here, and now one of our largest conferences of the year being housed. We're still almost sold out and its not even Presidents week yet so we're kinda in the same boats as you guys, except we're throwing folks in Parlor kitchen rooms that we have or reaching out to owners we dont manage to see if theyd be cool with letting us use their condos. Its an absolute fucking mess. It never helps that Third party booking sites dont really tell you if a hotel is sold out and Reservations departments typically arent based locally nearby and have no idea what inventory is for hotels which is shocking, they're trained to sell sell sell even if there isnt product available.
Two days off starting on tuesday to let a little loose, just hoping some terrain gets opened up too. Its been a wild ride and we're no where near done.

Its not obviously what you signed up for, getting your asses reamed out, but its a part of the gig. It sucks, every job has its bullshit, and honestly nothing should come easy in life, especially grinding out brutal weeks to get some days off to ski the goods. A good day of skiing, in my opinion, should come with some hard work.

Unrelated but today could have been a bit more worse, though. This is kinda greasy to do but someone lost their PAX in the lobby on a couch and doing my usual closing rounds, I snatched it up and was pleasantly surprised to find it has a half-full hybrid THC cartridge that made the drive home tonight kinda nice.

i have too many weed toys lol. A few pens for actual wax/crumble, a kingpen and a rove for cartridges, and a dry herb one whenever i have actual weed. What a time to be alive.
Anyone have any experience on Technical Cochise boots? Specifically looking at the 105. I tried them on at the shop and they fit amazingly. They appear to have a lot of pop in them compared to my FT rumors (sometimes I feel like I over flex them and they never really pop back if that makes sense). They also are compatible for touring which I don’t do but I could with them so why not? Haha

They’re really nice boots!! We sell them (i almost bought them) and i think they’ve got a really nice flex to them.

I got the cochise 130s this year and they are a rad boot. Flex really well and ski great
While on the topic of boots I really hope the k2 mindbender boots fit my foot bc they look like such a sick boot. I can’t wait to get out of my full tilts.
