DeebieSkeebiesa bit awkward but I checked this giant family in yesterday and they had a luggage cart totally stacked to the top. We stashed it in our bell closet room but for whatever reason, I couldnt stop hearing this buzzing and its coming from the cart. So i walk over and i think one of the suitcases had a travel buddy it in for one of the ladies traveling in the group lol

My homie Boris has absolutely no filter when he gets a few drinks in so he started tearing into the dude about how their social media shit now is why all these beaters are at Alta (as if there hasn't been tons of them there to begin with) and that he is whats wrong with skiing and it escalated from there lolololol. Another friend who works up at Alta too was at the bar tonight with us and told the story. Its hilarious in my opinion, that kid gets hilariously rowdy when hes drunk.

Most people never get the balls to move across the country and pursue a dream. Regardless of whether it works out, pulling off a xc move shows that someone has ambition and the drive to take action, and imo it's a big indicator of future success. Be glad you moved, cause if you didn't you probably would be on the east coast wondering if you're missing out, which is truly a personal hell.

Thank you, I needed that. And honestly it’s not the worst, just an awful job, everything’s expensive, housing is a nightmare, and I wish I was back east with my family in the middle of the woods where everyone would just leave me alone. It’s the people in California that make this place unbearable

I’m currently stuck at work because of travel bans throughout the drive home. But my dad did pick him up from my apartment before the bans and he is currently chilling with my family getting lots of attention and snowballs (he LOVES to fetch snowballs but won’t chase any other toys lol)

Dogs are the best. Funny about the whole polar vortex thingy. We are stuck in Juneuary here in Oregon. Sun is so intense and it's 40 degrees at Timberline. Hopefully the weather will change this weekend so we can get some winter.

Like dont get me wrong, its a blessing to ski nearly everyday but thats really it with these types of jobs. Good luck making them a career. And not to mention these said folks that work as a lifty, F+B, Food service, etc. Whatever it is, theyre getting priced out of the communities they work in so fuck skiing everyday when you got bottom lines to meet.
Its just sadly not the 80s anymore where you can slug it out waiting tables and skiing everyday. The ski bum shits changed, its just a way for rich kids to go on 6 month ski vaycays now. Anyone who tried making a living out if it either gave up or is fine with a poptop and ramen at alta and crippling substance abuse issues
And you folks gotta remember that there are other jobs you can find out west. Its not like resort/ski town jobs are the only ones that can get you on the mountain. Like fuck, my sisters an ER nurse and skis at least 3+ days a week, like dont settle for the lowest hanging fruits cuz it came with a ski pass

Yeah I felt bad for that post because I don't want to hate on the people who make the lifts spin and pour my beers. And I don't think anyone is a loser for doing that for a stretch. Just posting that it isn't hard to get a good job if you are resourceful and motivated these days. Paths don't have to be linear.
I moved to Tahoe after college and ran out of money in fucking November a winter that ended up having 600 inches of snow. Spent a few winters there when being self employed was good along with some good 2 week trips. My company wants (or needs) to hire someone in San Francisco. Gonna be easier said than done. Hotels there are expensive. I'm not relocating. Pretty good chance at some point I could post up in that area for a month or two (likely Sac) and have it covered while I work remotely. Could have taken a job that involved a lot of travel that would have given me the PNW as territory when I got my current one.

I had a sales job for a hotel during college if I moved to a ski town thats what I'd go for actually rode the lift with a guy in PC who did it for the Hyatt. I chirped him that there was no Park Hyatt and it looked kinda ghetto on the main road by Canyons since I stayed at the Beaver Creek Park Hyatt pack in December and thats the best hotel I've ever stayed at.
Built a little jump in campus using a snow pile from the plows for speed. Got a couple hits in before the fun police 🐷🐷shut me down.
My shovel broke so I told the cop I was going to get a new one and just left after like 3 minutes of tryna clean it up. Sorry everybody that has to walk thru like 3 inches of snow, my bad.
