Chubz.Just re watched network. That movie is so ahead of its time. I miss STEPT ski movies so much. They had a vibe to them that i dont think any crew can recreate.

Ikon really fucked us. Offering skiing at all 4 cottonwood resorts but only unlimited at solitude... can't wait for the masses to show up at brighton and solitude while the locals still don't have a good local multi-resort pass option. I see why people like it but i say fuck ikon. Hoping it won't be as bad as I'm thinking but I'm not very optimistic

First post from my new office. My own real office with floor to ceiling walls and a door that locks. Don't have my office furniture yet or the key to the door but I swiped a table from outside to set up the computer on and I moved my filing drawers in here from the cube. Got tons of room for ski posters in here. Pretty good for now and it'll just get better once I have a table to brew coffee and get a standing desk set up.

I work at an investment research firm which is less lucrative in terms of hands on trading but much better hours. Once you go into IB / PE / WM you can have alot of sweet exit opportunities after a few years, which is what the guys at my firm did ( they're higher on the totem pole than myself, I'm 24 and kind of landed here early in a lower role).

Two tips to not becoming consumed in Finance / a white collar career is:

1. to live well below your means so that you can bail ship at any time and not feel like your cost of living / quality of life is taking a huge hit. If you can live off $40k a year while earning $125k+, you'll never feel trapped by your job and the money.
2. For the most part, dont be friends with other finance / upper class guys. Network with them, make sure you're well liked, but hang out with people who aren't obsessed with money and appearances. Keeping up with the joneses can really creep up on you when you hang with folks in Corp / Tech / High Finance.

Brain chemicals is always the real answer. Tiny piece of paper vs. about 3 pounds of human brain is really no comparison.

Turns out my office key is the same old school master key that I already have. Just took some jiggling. Found myself a bigger table that another dept. was trying to get rid of too. Still like office space in here but getting better. Gotta get some posters or something though.

I was thinking the same things regarding all of these multi-passes. Like obviously locals don't mostly pay the bills but for fuck sakes, ski towns wouldn't also survive without us, so at the very least throw us a bone or two instead of hiking up individual pass prices every year while shilling out these terrible multi-resort passes. Its just a bit of a bummer, honestly. I dont care how good of a deal it is.

Preach my dude, currently dealing with insurance trying to see if they'll cover damage for me hitting a car on a makeshift scooter while spending unnecessarily before ski season. But at least utah is pretty rn, also smokey tho.

My older brother just landed a job doing snow making at copper this season. I know jealousy is petty but fuck I'm pretty jealous. I'll be stuck either in school or doing some odd job to afford gas money to the mountain. Oh well maybe next year I'll get out of my town and land a job that allows me to ski more.
