I worked for the evil vail overlords in the past as a lifty and it wasnt so bad, its changed totally since then but their hotel jobs dont seem that bad either. You cant be a choosy beggar when you're broke as shit and unemployed so fuck it, at least its something that allows you to work every night and ski mostly everyday.
Had such a good day today, got on parleys and immediately almost got swerved into, waited an hour for a customer at their house, got sent to the wrong house, then while waiting around at our shop for the next appointment I was riding on our new little moped, and I took it half throttle into a coffee shop owners car.... luckily shes chill and were figuring it out tomorrow, hope her friend can do a good deal and I can pay overtime, I got scraped the fuck up.
For reference the thing is a light metal frame and the brake was basically a kickstand that was shit and hard to find when the thing cant be controlled at half throttle.

Watched the eighty six the other day, such good movies dude, Clayton's mutiny segment has been inspiring me since I saw it. probably watching mutiny and network or some other ski movie this weekend, getting close to the skizn.

Fuck cops. I was walking to a friend's house with my girlfriend last night, completely sober, and she was carrying a water bottle full of vodka and red bull. Unmarked cop car pulls out in front of us on the sidewalk and two cops get out and start questioning her about the water bottle. She ended up getting an MIP cause she's 19 and I'm 21 and I tried to defend her saying the bottle was mine and then the cop threatened to charge me with supplying a minor with alcohol. Protect and serve my fucking ass. Are there not 100 better things cops could be doing? I'm so heated.

Sad to hear about Mac Miller. This sorta trend of young people dying from overdoses has got to stop. Substance abuse issues and mental health stuff are nothing to tread lightly on and its never too late to get help with stuff. Rest easy, dude. Dont be scared to reach out to people and friends you care about who are going down dangerous paths and/or also dealing with mental health issues.

well if anyone remembers me bitching about my knee all of last season the Doc thinks I tore part of my quad lol.....makes sense it hurt now haha
getting an appointment for a MRI to make sure, Doc thought it was meniscus at first, but the pain shoots up my quad nowadays so she is leaning towards quad tear....which may be good because it shouldn't require surgery.

I've gone this route as well and guess what, I work 40 hours each week and I know exactly what my schedule will be, I make >3x money than I would have had I gone the typical skiier route, and I'm less stressed than my friends ( I live in a ski town) because I dont have money issues. You're gonna get off work with alot of energy because desk job, and you'll never work on the weekends so you can always make plans in advance.
White collar gets a bad reputation because it's " soul sucking" but it's what you make of it. Any job can be interesting if you set goals within it and bust ass. Plus, if you build up a few years of experience, you can take sabbaticals of 6-12 months and work ski bum jobs if you want, then jump right back into industry.
All my coworkers work 9-5 and get off work to kill MTB or fish and raft. When you start to fall into a routine, THATS when you need to be worried about being a square.

It's definitely not mega rich but if I stay here I can probably jump up to investment banking right after college

ronders_My bike just got jacked from centennial towers on du campus. They cut the lock. Bye bye like a whole summer of work money
Oh no. Keep your eyes out and make sure to file all the reports etc. sometimes nice stuff just gets ditched or picked up by the cops or security.
This sort of thing makes me glad I always used to bring my nice bikes inside. I got bitched at more than a few times for having my bike in the school buildings but I'm glad I did. Any lock or chain is too easy to cut.

There is a nick/area where powdercoat is scratched off on the top tube. The rotors are also different than the pic. I'll be on craigslist looking for it too

Not to be a total asshole but why would you think it wouldn't get stolen? Notice how everyone else's bike is a total piece of shit? Some kid at Boulder got his $5,000 bike stolen because he had it locked up outside of his dorm. No lock is going to stop someone with bolt cutters. Don't they tell you this shit at orientation or something? Like I just don't understand at all. Would you leave your skis outside with some piece of shit 5 dollar lock for days on end?
yeah nobody rides nice bikes for a reason. If its nice and you have to ride that one to class bring it in the classroom. Sucks that it got stolen though
Finally made my first impulse drunk online purchase. More proud of myself than ever. Work too hard and make too much to not blow it on dumb stuff occasionally. Feel like I don't enjoy it enough

Yea kicking myself for being a dumbass. My thought process was that I didn't want to have a nice bike and not ride it. Should have brought it up to my dorm at night but I would still have to leave it outside during some late classes
