Rparrhonestly one of the only drugs I've ever been too scared to try. Shit looks spooky (and unhealthy)
-arc-I'm in my final semester of highschool and have about 15 weeks left until graduate and I'm really fucking scared. I'm planning to go study music at a university about two hours drive from where I live. I'm a dual citizen with Australia and Canada and I'm going over to work as a ski instructor at Silverstar for a season, but due to the uni year, I'd have to come back in February and due to the nature of the course (audition) I can't differ.
Finishing year 12 rn is feeling like the biggest hoop jumping formality I've faced. I thought I'd be savouring this moment where the end is in sight but all I'm seeing is a waste of time. When you finish highschool in Queensland (the state I live in), you get an OP which is a score assigned to you based on your grades and your score on a standardised test that every graduate in the state takes. Fun thing is, for the music course, I don't need an OP, only a QCE (Queensland Certificate of Education). Right now I'm predicted a 3 out of a possible 25 which is pretty good. Because I'm doing well, I get hassled by all the teachers and about what course I'm going into at uni, expecting I'll take something like medicine, law, other academic degrees and when I tell them I want to study music they're all disappointed. Now I'm torn on what I should apply for.
I'm also scared as hell about having to move 2 hours away to a uni that has no residence meaning I'll have to live in a share house or something similar. I'll be 17 when I graduate and won't be 18 till october, meaning I won't even be able to sign for myself as an adult for anything. I'm also nervous as hell about the audition and interview. I'm not your typical music student. I haven't taken any formal music exams outside of school (this is pretty atypical for people applying for a jazz degree) so I'm not sure if they will acknowledge all my performance experience.
End worrying.
Sorry for le disjointed post.
Titus69Anyone around SLC or PC know if I can rent a mountain bike to hit trails with? It seems like something I wanna get into but dont wanna drop 400 on a used bike and not have fun with it.
safarisamI have a very, very strong urge to move to Maine.
BigPurpleSkiSuitIf you're at the U I think they have some kind of an outdoor rental program somewhere.
milk_manIs the slapp app not working for anyone else? None of the videos will play. Can someone test this out for me?

Titus69Not even enrolled in school, just working and skiing. I thought PC or maybe deer valley had some rental type thing, i think my friend worked as a guide last summer, but I imagine its fucking pricey.
brotoYou don't need to be enrolled at the U to rent stuff from the outdoor center. It's open to the public. $25 per day for bike rentals
Titus69Lol didnt know, thanks for the info, does it matter where I ride it? Obviously gonna start small
brotoNo I don't think it matters where you take it. You could rent one for the weekend and take it to moab if you wanted to

JoeF2661I just need to do a bit of maturing. I forget sometimes I'm not 18 anymore and it's really selfish of me to drag my family through my alcoholic episodes with me. The last couple
months I have been the poster child of somebody who can have it all but threw it away. My head has been fully engulfed in my ass and I'm just now seeing the error of my ways.
Titus69Cut out the alcohol, smoke weed.
JoeF2661Think I'm just going to get on that new shit called detox. Woke up this morning bit clear headed deciding what better time to start than now.

dadiToday a Mt.Hutt tweeted "10cm of new snow! get your fatties out" and idk thats like 4 inches, being here is weird
JoeF2661My selfish and alcoholic tenancies are finally taking a toll on my relationships with family and friends.
Chubz.can anybody that was at hood or has the in, explain why windells dumped almost all their diggers mid way through the summer? Ik it's really none of my business but the curiosity is eating at me
NzeskibroI like it
OregonDeadOoooh! Do tell more. What did you hear? Was that just at the end of July or earlier? Really wonder how many campers they will have for the rest of the summer.
I'm sure Timberline was worried about lower ridership in August b/c they dropped ticket prices from $71 to $49 yesterday. I heard they were pretty much all booked up with reservations for June and July though.

Chubz.my homie from home was a digger the past two summers there and he left for a week, came back and a lot of their diggers were cut. I dont want to put any false information because im only going off of what ive seen on social media, 4 or 5 dudes were cut off. I have no idea what happened or why, but this is probably the best place to get an idea. (also dont really like gossiping lol)
Titus69Just tried, and I cant even load the "hot" section, also even from apple to Samsung I cant upload a video myself. Maybe they just gave up, messaged slvsh about it way back but no reply, of course.
