its sad but burger king employees make more than most people who work in park city. Bartending/waiter jobs are probably the 2nd best option. Working nights can kinda get hard because everyone has the same mindset of ski all day and work all night.

Well, if I take a promotion right now, I'll be working 35 or 40 hrs a week while slogging through college. I'll have time to ski weekends and earn about 35k a year. If I work at a resort I'd be a ski instructor/bartender and doing little college while skiing tons barely able to support myself. I guess I'll have to stay with my current plan

A bad job that ended with me working at a restaurant instead of in my field, my close friend moved away, issues with my parents, I don't even know if I want to continue with working in my field anymore, financial shit, low personal confidence, just got a denial letter from a job interview, and now a breakup. I can't sleep anymore and my parents are moving further away from me. I hate being a whiney person on here, but I'm just in a sucky mood. The one person I want to talk to isn't talking to me anymore which puts more sucky on the suckiness.

The first two years I was at camp. The past two years I was working at camp and this year I’m working as an administrator at a mental health and substance use clinic. Made a full 180 in the past year haha

.FryMy alarm went off when I was in the shower and the buzzer on my brand new 128 gb iphone caused it to jump to its death. Is anyone else super unlucky with phones?


I go through at least 4/5 phones a year. The only thing that works is having a really shitty phone. But even that is still not fool proof. I got 86-ed from a campground and lost my phone last weekend (was my moms old iPhone 3Gs which had a longish run.)

I'm honestly extremely excited to order the iPhone 6s plus tomorrow refurbushed off ebay for 200 now its 3 years old because it was WAAAYYYYY too pricey for me prior to now. Hope I don't get a shitty one with a bad battery.

I should order whatever phone my friend who is getting out of prison this week gave me but I doubt it arrives in time I got to wait to get paid tomorrow. In the last 12 months he gave me two old iPhones for free because he went in in February he just didn't want me to be texting in green I guess and he'll be pretty bummed to find out his dads old phone isn't still in use (broke within a week or two of him going away.) But fuck I have always wanted that 6s plus and now the price is right I gotta have it. My boss offered to upgrade my work iPhone and I told him no since I would end up using it more than my own and its life expectancy would be short. As long as I don't fuck up with that thing its all good I got enough problems last thing I need to do is go to my employer with my tail between my legs because their phone went and got lost or broke.

Yea in college and highschool I would go 30 times a year. Now that I'm old and working I literally go 2 or 3 times a year.... it's sad =(

that's why I'm dead set on living very close to a hill even if it's a shitty place. As long as it has some rails I can grease I'll be happy. I was fortunate enough to get out 60 something times last year even while working because I live 5 minutes from my local park and they are open until 10 pm

Damn yea man, thats legit. If you can do that it's def worth it. I grew up 3 hours from a good mountain and an hour from a shitty one. I've moved further into the city so now the good mountains are 3.5 hours and the shitty ones are 1.5 hours. I'm no longer the ski boy i used to be.

Hey at least you got a letter. I applied to stuff and either never heard back or heard back about a year later, at which point I'd already gotten a shit job I hated, and have since then left. You ever think about teaching? That's always been something in the back of my mind. There was a organization around here that takes people with chem degrees and has them teach like inner city schools and that sort of thing. I always thought it'd be good to be that one cool science teacher who's chill, and so the kids don't act like animals because they actually want to respect the teacher. That's probably significantly easier said than done though and most kids will just ask about meth synthesis or play fortnite on their phones.

My job is contract and it's up next March, and I'm almost certain it's not getting extended so I need to figure out what the fuck to do by then. I also will come off my parents insurance so I have to figure that shit out. I've been over so many scenarios in my head, as I'm sure you have. I have a plan but you know how that goes. I had a plan when I graduated too... I really would like to just get into school, end this job in march and say fuck it and go travel until school starts. I'm not broke and I haven't traveled like my friends have thus far, hence why I'm not broke.

I thought moab was hot but palm desert/coachella valley doesnt get below 95 until maybe 4am and my grandma lives here (me and my mom did a surprise roadtrip for her 80th bday, god bless this woman). Its currently 112F and its supposed to break 120 next week apparently.

Its a giant retirement community and golf resort area so its like perfect for older folks year round. Just picture a giant terrainium or whatever for lizards and reptiles. Plenty of heat and light, water, and food
