Dr. Pows are super fun. Now I want to get them out in some fresh snow. Really stoked how they handled really old untracked snow and treebombed snow in the woods. Maybe if I can get cracking here at work I can get enough done here to ski Friday too.

i know its so hard to police everyone that comes into a resort but having only like 1 person and 1 security camera (facing away of course) is just insane to me, this kind of stuff can definitely be prevented and I dont buy the whole "people are just shitty" excuse when it comes to this kind of stuff. warning signs and cameras arent going to stop criminals but theyre more likely to give up if there is somewhat of a presence there. Especially at a place like Deer Valley with multiple base areas right next to streets where you can just walk up, take shit, and drive away. These dipshit old grandpa fogey resort hosts at the bottom dont even bat a fucking eye.

Resorts should be more up front with guest about how much theft really goes on. On busy weekends I bet thefts happen all the time. I almost split my skis and set them outside the lodge Saturday and I'm glad I decided to wait for the ski check. Last time I left anything unattended on the hill someone stole my shoes.

they dont want to ruin the enchantment that is ski resorts and ski vacations for the guests, people forget about reality here and dont think this kind of stuff happens or happens in a place like that.

Yeah the fancier a place is the more it is just a magnet for people that want to jack shiny things.
Hope you get your skis back though. When my bag got jacked they ended up throwing my bag away in the woods so I got it back and my wife's shoes that were in it they just kept my shoes which were a pretty clean pair of Air Max so for sure it was a crook and not some sort of 'mix up' with a guest picking up my bag. Slim chance but keep your eyes open since the tweaker may have needed to just dump them or might have tried to stash them for later.

its like one or the other tbh. cant go wrong with either. 108s will be a solid do it all ski but the 116s will be the same but can handle deep days which is good too
Most of the parks in Japan suck ass and it's stopped snowing now. I miss spring skiing in Canada.
On another note, learning how to balance a relationship with other things in life is hard. Of course I love hanging out with my girlfriend but sometimes I just wanna ski or play some Final Fantasy. I'll figure it out eventually.

I feel you there, ski season has literally been the downfall of nearly every relationship I've been in. I'm a junkie, there's no woman in the world that could keep me off the hill on a bluebird

Almost was able to just say see ya Monday if I closed, but I might ask my coworker if it's fine that I don't show cause the new 33 inches of snow will be about 20 by Sunday and it'll be somewhat slow. Not sure about my vacation time yet, I asked the day before but my one day off so far was a "floater" so my boss might've not checked my hours. Should be getting a weeks worth soon I think, Utah trip perhaps.

its so nice and like ive seen the hype on NS about them but really to see it happen to you is so great, i love this company already. i work in the service industry and try the best to do a good job and to have it come full circle just means everything, you know.

I wish psychadelics weren't so powerful and didn't last so long. I ordered this stuff called 4-aco-MET and I'm excited to try it, seems sort of like shrooms with less headspace but I'm holding off yet again because I have too much stuff to get done tomorrow and will need a clear head.

Maybe that was just the rich tourists from the east and midwest? Those types can suck for sure but whenever I was skiing there growing up most people actually living in that area were pretty chill. Then again on the other end of the spectrum you get nativistic assholes who think spending most of their life in MT permits them to be bitchy and condescending all the time, maybe that too.

a guest here almost burned down a block of condos because he cleaned his fireplace out and took smoldering hot (practically still on fire) logs and emptied them out into a wicker basket on the deck and fucked the deck up and almost barbequed his family and a bunch of other people.

I got fired from my job today for the biggest bullshit fiasco I’ve ever been a part of. Pretty much just defended myself to my “boss” and he let me go. Gonna talk with HR about the situation tomorrow and see what they have to say about it.
