you’re right, it is. i could go on craigslist and buy 6 great used cars for the same price of a brand new pathfinder. this is obvious, but all new cars depriciate in value by a considerable amount immediately after being purchased.

MinggI didn’t see what happened, but I was riding up the lift and saw a man unconscious. Someone had gotten there and yelled to call patrol. He was clearly unconscious. One lap later riding up the lift ski patrol/bystanders started CPR. I left the area and overhead on my boyfriend’s radio that patrol was out and an ambulance was there. A couple runs later, EMTs, patrol and safety watch were standing by the ambulance which hadn’t left yet.
Im not sure if that means he passed away before they got there, or if that means he was okay and they were just gathering info and all that.
Most often if they pass away on hill they have rooms in the emt room where they will keep them a while before transporting. That's a good sign the ambulance was there that fast

However, most tailgaters I come across on the highway drive everyday is BMW, VW, assholes in trucks, and Mercedes. I often pass people in their trashy 08 Altimas, and recently an old man in a sexy nismo 370.

I do my best to stay right except to pass, but if somebody decides to ride my ass when clearly there are cars in front of me, then I don't care what lane I'm in, they can go fuck themselves, I will slow down and take my sweet time.

Not going to ruin my fuel economy for 1min saved time. I sit there and enjoy how butthurt they're getting until they pass. I'd rather they pass anyway since if they're tailgating at highway speeds then they're probably a terrible driver. When it comes to highway speeds like 65 or 70 I sit in the right at 5 over and still pass people with the left, not that I'm usually in a rush but I get close to the cops threshold, I have a detector too. When it comes to my drive to VT to ski I pass people still at low speeds but cause when it's over 55 I know you can't get away with at least 5 over, and the backroads are too fun and they don't know it.
Sometimes I'm that guy in bumper to bumper traffic, I just slowly try to get ahead a little bit, I just have to deal with 20+ stoplights on my usual route home, except the backway I took wasn't bad today. I'm knocking on wood but so many drivers are fucking idiots these days.

We had a tiny bit of snow last night and this morning I saw some dude who skidded to a stop under the back of a school bus. Didn't look like much damage but still, really? His car was low enough so the bumper of the bus stopped his car by hitting the hood. This was on a side street too, not even a main road where you'd be going more than 25. Some people shouldn't drive. I blame luxury cars and SUVs. People who drive like shit to being with now have cars that accelerate pretty quickly, which is worse than a bad driver in a shitmobile that's slow.
I view it like this; going 70 in a 65 won't save you any time unless you're traveling very far. On my usual drive to go surfing I spend about 25 minutes on the highway, the other 25 or or 20 in neighborhoods and local streets. If you double your speed on the highway to 130mph you'd get there in half the time, but half of 25 is only 12.5. I don't think my car would sustain 130, first of all, and ignoring that that's way too fast... and I saved just 12.5min. 65mph for 25 minutes is 26 or so miles. If I go 80 it'd take like twenty minutes or something if I did the math right. So I save 5 minutes by going 15 over, which is definitely ticket territory. Not worth it. I get worse gas mileage going faster than 65 anyway.
Coming home from work, I'm literally on the highway for 5 minutes. Going there it's probably like ten. Going any reasonable speed higher than 65 will basically save me no time. Not that I recommend it, but you'd save more time by going faster in the slower zones. 35 in a 25 is like 40ish % increase or something, but you'd have to go 90ish to get that increase from 65, but 35 in a 25 isn't that fast. 90 in a 65 is pretty fast... Not that every dude in a lexus suv isn't doing 90 but... Aggressively navigating through traffic rarely pays off since you usually end up getting stuck anyway. Only time that's worth it if there's clearly a lot of free space in front of a slow group.

Yeah my accident was kinda my fault too, I passed the car that hit me, and i was behind the guy who broke suddenly, had I stayed behind the car that hit me I could've sandwiched her. Cause I was on her a little bit going uphill cause the right lane was clean, and it was me in a 4wd crv on studded snows vs a Corolla on all seasons in .5" of slushy shit. But you're a legal retard to hit a bus in bad conditions unless you have bad tires or it's fast/downhill.
My work commute is similar, 30-40mph roads then a short highway drive that's 55 but 4 lanes wide and people haul ass since cops don't have a lot of room to post up, but patrol it at rush hour. I can make it from the on ramp to work in like 5 minutes at slowest, usually go 65 but stay far cause there's plenty of Massholes.
Another cause for idiot driving is all the new tech features, the service guys at work were talking about whiney customers saying their Bluetooth isn't doing voice to text and shit. They shouldn't worry about texting or calling while driving, my mom's cx5 has that shit and driving with her can be sketch.
I speed where I can and when there aren't many people around, like the backroads I live around are all 30 but dirt or pavement I can average like 45 at least late at night. Around towns I don't really even go 10 over, cops need speeding tickets around here.

I've heard california is insane for driving. I get passed all the time but, as I've explained, I don't care. I don't know if you have truck lanes there, but the NJ tunrpike has one side for only cars and the other for everybody. If I drive with the trucks they're usually not speeding, and half the time they're not at 65 even. A lot of people go really fast in the truck lane and weave because you can do a lot of passing. The trucks usually aren't in the left lane.
Snowed here today and I went 25 tops on the turnpike. Saw some dude lose it in a intersection too, although I knew he was going to. He came down a hill and was going to make a left, slid a bit, locked his wheels so he just slid more, most of the way across the intersection. Was lucky he didn't slide all the way across into the other cars at the light.

Ordered a bunch of Christmas gifts just now. Looks like I'm starting to cut it down to the wire so I better get the rest of this finished up soon. I'm pretty close to being done ordering stuff and my dad just wants a new gas can so I can hook that up at the farm store.
Christmas party for work is tomorrow night, don't wanna go but I'm just gonna eat and probably leave quick, gotta get up early to ski and im not 21. also don't know most of the people and they're all actual adults besides a few of us.
Wow that company party was boring, just chilled with the 2 kids I work with then we sat with people from different locations and hardly talked. A bit hard when you're 20 and they're 35+. Now my stomach hurts and I gotta be up early.
