Thinking I might need to get a new phone. Dog ate my charger the other day and it's pre-usb so I had to order. Fking shop sent me the wrong charger and it takes a couple days each way for the mail. Really can't go too long without a phone. Also probably not much more now for me to just get a smart phone plan.
If I get an Iphone should I just get the SE or is it worth it for the extra splash proofing on the 7. I guess I never worried about this so I don't know if it's even an issue or what.

I like the plus series of the iphones. I’ve had a 6, 6s plus and now I’m on a 7 plus and honestly once you go big phone it’s hard making the switch back to a smaller phone.

Ive had no complaints with them, slap a screen protector and a case and you shouldn’t have to worry about anything. The pluses have great battery life, better cameras and ive just learned to love having a big phone.

If its not your style though I would go with the 7, you’ll probably get more longevity out of it than the se.


there are are also fantastic android choices out there as well. LG g6, galaxy s8, one plus 5t, and the google pixel 2 are all worth taking a look at.

I guess google is offering their “google home” speaker helper thing for free when you buy a pixel 2. Which is a pretty cool deal if you’re into that sort of stuff.

Yeah I can see how a bigger phone would be better for some stuff but I really don't think I'm going to do much except call text and check the lift status page at the ski area. The larger case size is one of the reasons I have been sticking with my flip phone. I always wanted one of those phones you can fit into your change pocket.



Unfortunately the market went another direction. If I do go for a smart phone I want to get one that actually works good so maybe I should hold some of the bigger ones to see if it's something I could get used to.

day 5 (or 6 idk cant remember) consisted of the first skin track trek of the season up in upper Grizzly Gulch, and my first time ever touring in LCC.



At times it was a fucking struggle. My skins froze and started not working, my friends loaner set of skins froze as well, so i found myself bootpacking up the ridge after our first run. Lots of frustrations, but lots of other things could have been worse. It was a stunning textbook bluebird coldsmoke day in the cottonwoods and it was just a pleasure being there. Skiing was pretty fucking deep as well, good shit.



favorite part was skinning up the little gulch that nestles pyramid gap and chads. fucking HUMBLING skinning past those behemoths. Made me all giddy and happy because the fact that nearly most of the gap shoots in TBC are in grizzly gulch, and theres just so damn much ski history in this canyon. It was fucking awesome.

but seriously those gaps are insane and honestly seeing them in person kinda puts the whole thing into perspective. I still cannot believe all the shit that has been thrown down in this gulch.

That's what I am saying. I don't think I have ever heard of anybody that can drive a stick decently in boots. Auto on the other hand is super easy. When I'm back in SD skiing I drive down the road to the burger joint for lunch every day....cant remember the last time I took the boots off.

I liked my SE better than my current 6s, plus you can get 128gb for the price of a 32gb 7 probably

getting my tires fixed and I'm sitting here with a few older, nice gentlemen. We had a good little chat, using words like "sir", "thank you", you know, showing respect and just havin a good little small talk chat. This mom and her kid come over and she grabs the open chairs away from the two older gents and had her and her kid sit 3 feet further away from them. Like wtf? No one is gonna rape your kid at Les Schwab tires. That's why kids these days are pussies.

JLev didn't do anything. 4FRNT wasn't profitable at all for the 15 years they were independent. JLev is just trying to keep 4F around, but it's gonna be tricky.

No one. Look at J skis. They have like 2 athletes. I'm guessing 4Frnt is gonna follow a similar model..

but who knows. The reason 4FRNT was bought is because they were GOING OUT OF BUSINESS. It's gonna take a some time to make sure they keep that classic 4frnt style while being profitable.

honestly just be patient, only time will tell.

Hoji could go elsewhere but hes dedicated to the brand and making good skis. Im sure there are plenty of companies/teams out there that would kill to have a mind like that helping with design and development of gear especially BC/touring stuff. Its like the fastest growing segment in snowports I believe, I think SIA's annual reportings or whatever said something along those lines last season. Id imagine there is a big demand for constant development of the latest and greatest tech for that kind of skiing.
