Chubz.Got into a gigantic fight with my ex girlfriend tonight and I just got to get on a chairlift and just ski and ski and ski and ski forget the world
Relationships are for the birds man
Chubz.you know honestly i love vishnu's. You can lay into butters effortlessly and the thing i like most about it is how much control you have with them. When they say Wets are a rubberband, not a noodle they mean it. You can feel exactly where youre at through tail and nose butters because of the stability underfoot. I havent had any issues with them washing out on me when im just skiing groomers, theyre fast, in control and just so much fun.
If you have another ski for all mountain play and want a park specific ski thats buttery and fun as shit, go with the V's. Theyre not really an all mountain ski so i would definitely bring another set in the car to switch out if you just wanted to charge around after some park laps. Thats what i did before i sold my kartel 106's.
Randy_QuenchUgh. I'm so torn. If I was skiing Loon again this season they sound like the ideal ski. Maybe not so much for Bachelor though.
Randy_QuenchMy girlfriend just surprised me with a gopro hero5 black as a going away present and I'm so stoked! Haven't messed around with gopros since my old hero2 so this thing is seriously blowing my mind.
Chubz.youre from idaho right? I mean theres videos of a4 and wabs shredding pow at brighton with them on. Like if you get a bump weird and get sent back seat, theyre not so soft that you'll wheelie out or get squirly. I would definitely shred slushy corn with these without hesitation.
Like if you lean back and try to flex out on these, youre gonna be on your ass. If you want to do a somersault, all you gotta do is lean forward and do a hand stand and they'll spring you once you flex out the noses. If you want to haul ass down a groomer, these will send with a lil bit of chatter. If you want to do huge butters off knuckles, these are your skis. If you want a surfy fun ski that will hold up on pretty much any jump and thats softer than anything else on the market and youre gonna use it mostly for park, you will have endless fun on the wets.

Chubz.I'd ski tf out of bachelor w them.
They were a blast at Brighton
DeebieSkeebiessomeone quote us with that warren miller quote about just clicking into your skis and having errything be at peace for a few moments.
this is the kinda shit that creates a fire that burns an eternity, having someone fuck you over like this gave me a hunger unlike anything else and "relentless" is a word that will sum up this season.
OregonDeadYeah but something way fatter is the way to go if you want to ski everyday at Bachelor. Think about skiing in glue or concrete or a weird crust. You'll want monster truck tires not pizza cutters.
Randy_QuenchTrue, no argument there. I'm just being stubborn by not wanting to stray from my east coast skinny park ski roots. I plan to have a fatter ski for "REAL" skiing, but want something skinnier to tool around the park and occasional mountain lap on. Plus I think the convo has shifted into more of a Vishnu Q and A since I'm finding a lot of people want to hear more about how Vishnus ski outside of trannys and butters, because they've proven themselves there already.

Randy_QuenchI dont want a fully cambered ski, just one that isn't overly stupid rockered. Never heard of Sego until now. Was skeptical until I saw the early rise tip/tail, and I'll have to think about it given the price. Thanks for the tip.

DeepskierI feel like they would be mad fun in the bumps, spring slush and just fucking around but not sure if that enought to merit buying a pair. I had some whipits for a while and hated how easy they were to flex out on. Granted they were pretty small for me. I guess my whole question boils down to how sendy can you get in these in terms of all mountain, ripping bumps, slush, little bit of park, boosting cat tracks and gaps and what not?
Chubz.what is your current park ski?
DeepskierPipe cleaners
DeepskierI'd call the pipe cleaners a medium flex, whipits were soft, slats were soft. Idk that why I mm uneasy about getting a pair of wets, they seem fun but I'd only use them a handful of times a year in early or late season. Wish they did a demo thing
Chubz.take a trip down to SLC and see if you can get on a pair. They really are so much fun, just depends what youre into.
DeepskierDidn't hunk about that, a trip to slc would be very plausible and pretty damn fun. But where would I ride them? Alta?
Chubz.I'd take em to pow mow or Brighton
Fuck Alta on v's lol yikes
DrZoidbergWhat you're looking for seems to be hard to find, since it's what I want too. I feel like a lot of rockered park skis now are really soft and aimed at just butters and such, plus they turn funny because of their shape and they've gotten fatter.
Do the alphas ski like JJs? I liked everything about JJs the few times I've ridden them. I also rode FRs once and I didn't find them noodly, but I weight 120lbs so that's not surprising. They did kinda have an odd turning feeling but I'm used to full camber park skis and those didn't seem as odd as some others I've ridden. I liked them overall. The Candide 1.0s look real nice, with that super tight turn radius.
Chubz.i think youd find a pair of custom kartel 98's to be what youre looking for. I think getting lighter glass in them would give you the exact ski youre looking for. A softer park oriented ski that can still charge through chop/crust etc. Idk i would launch off shit out of the park with a lot more confidence if i was on a pair of kartels rather than wets.
SendyMcSendyfaceDamn Rochester is a sketchy city. Maybe its just cause I'm from Canada tho.
Randy_QuenchAll these damn new wave kids are causing all the new ski development to produce nothing but pool noodle skis haha
I feel like a broken record, but the Alpha 1 was the best ski I've ever skied. It had just enough early rise to give you some lift through crud, was stiff enough so that you really had to toss your weight into a butter, and the elf shoe tip/tail made the swing weight low and the turning radius perfect. I miss laying turns down on those bad boys. The Alpha X was a good update, it was nice to have some more width underfoot, but with that it lost some of it's nimbleness in turns. I can't say how similar they are to JJs because I haven't skied JJs. I would have bought another pair of Alpha Xs if mine didnt fall apart so damn fast. After delamming 4 pairs of alphas I decided its time to try something else lol.
Yeah I think I'm gonna pass on the wets this year. I think lencon was right, if I find the FRs to be noodly I probably wont like the wets either. Kartels are definitely a possibility, but customs are $$$$$ and I'm trying to budget for a fat ski too. If Kartels arent the ski for me then there's always Candide 1.0s or even 2.0s.
Chubz.Western New York the asshole of the north east. Everybody wants to be from the city and is addicted to heroin.
SendyMcSendyfaceI've noticed. Fuck theres also nothing to do here

taylornicky2 days of living with my parents and I'm already annoying. It's lame because I love my parents and spending time with them, but living with them after so long is going to be hard.

Titus69Stranger things is a very good show, not far in but it's pretty damn annoying the way they end episodes.
DaphThis has been the longest two weeks of work of my fucking life.

Randy_QuenchI moved home this summer to save some money and I know exactly how you feel. I have a great relationship with my family, its just frustrating not having the independence I've had for the last few years. The first week or two is definitely the worst.
I'm fucking stressing right now. My drivers side window got stuck down this morning.. a week before a 3500 mile move across the country. Praying that its just a bad switch and not the window motor, which is both expensive af and a royal PITA to replace.
