I meet income requirements(make less than $100,000) yet was denied the excelsior scholarship(free tuition) over a technicality.
With Financial Aid, I've never spent more than 2k for a semester. Now, with the new policies and what not, I don't get any financial aid - no grants, no loans even. So I'm suddenly paying $7,000 for one semester when I previously spent at most $4,000for the entire year.

Looking to buy another pair of on3p's and need this question answered before i drop a thousand dollars on a pair of skis
if you go softer fiberglass and softer carbon, how much a difference does it actually make?
Looking at getting a pair of kartel 108s to replace my 106's that i sold and I LOVED how they skied after 3 seasons of riding. They charged through anything i took them through and i was able to butter them how i wanted. But I want something just as playful out of the box. My biggest concern is with taking that stiffness out of the ski, am I going to lose a lot of that power and stability going through chop and chunder? It'll be a do it all ski, deep days in utah when im out there, whatever "pow" days we get at home as well as trips up to NH and VT, fat park ski, and something i can haul ass on groomers with. But im just loooking for that same playfulness I had with my broken in kartels
thats exactly what im saying! I rode a pair of salomon quest 106's out in utah this year and all i wanted was to be on a pair of on3ps instead. Was not a fan at all and hated how they skied. I couldnt drive the ski throught power and they werent nearly as stable through chop and just wasnt a fun time. They would dive a lot and the ski felt dead i guess. Just was not a fan at all. I miss how stable on3ps ski. Should have never sold my kartels but i just get to buy a new pair. Definitely gonna hit up their customer service and ask. Maybe theres a sweet spot with going with just softer fiberglass or stringers instead of doing both
or who knows maybe you could make your own pair of bombproof on3p lizzies
In the market for a new skateboard and I'm almost tempted to get the faction board, want something poppy but seems like something to not be used everyday since they're limited.
Going to bake Salmon and veggies tonight. Probably should make that the staple of my diet but I keep getting lazy. No place has baked fish and veggies take out for any kind of reasonable price.
damn. I switched from design to product development before we got into draping but I've got a lot of respect for people who can turn a bunch of fabric into pieces like that.

My wife worked late last night so I grilled salmon and asparagus in foil packets. It was very easy, took less than 20 min and had almost no clean up.
And yeah... draping this stuff and making patterns, sewing toiles, doing alterations, fixing patterns, draping more - its a long process but it's a lot of fun and it really feels great once its done.
It looks good on the inside which is at least as important. French seams, silk lining, invisible zipper etc

I love the foil packet method when I grill. In the oven about 20min at 425 is usually perfect. My wife sucks at cooking anything healthy. If I left the shopping up to her we'd end up with crackers and cheese and frozen pizza. Lol. Don't tell her I said that but seriously if I want anything decent it's on me.

The program that I'm in at Colorado State is kinda a mix between the apparel design program and supply chain management. You get the digital design elements with a focus on making tech flats and then I took some basic construction and flat patternmaking classes. Then there's a lot of sourcing classes and general textiles and apparel industry stuff. I switched mostly because I'm aiming for a job in the outdoor industry working in ski/climbing outerwear and everyone I talked to said the Product Development curriculum would be more applicable. I do miss actually making stuff though, but I have sewing machine at home now so I'm hoping to get back into it when I have more free time.

Such a good meal... just watch your mercury levels if you do start to eat a lot of fish! Salmon isn't too bad, but tuna and what not can cause some trouble to some people if too much is eaten. Everything in moderation, I guess.

Not supposed to eat cold water fish more than once a week if I'm not mistaken.

ah yeah i've heard of ESMOD. i'm doing short courses at CSM just now before i start at Kingston in september. finished my first toile yesterday, got a day and a half to finish the final shirt which is gonna be tough. will post a pic when its done

Eating my leftover baked zucchini and onions right now. I go for the wild salmon. Got some nice coho yesterday. Everything for the whole meal cost about $10 to feed two of us plus we had leftovers.
