MinggI need opinions. Can someone please tell me if I'm being unreasonable?
Details of current situation:
My roommate and I had(have) a two bedroom apartment.
We signed a single lease for the whole unit, which we split two ways.
I moved out last month because I moved to Hood for work which would take us to the end of our lease. I agreed to pay our rent till the end because I signed a 1 year lease.
When I moved out her boyfriend moved in. I assumed we would split rent 3 ways because we signed our lease in agreement it would be for the whole unit, not individual rooms.
My understanding prior to moving out was we would split it $295 3 ways.
Now she wants me to pay $440, while she pays $220 and her boyfriend pays $220.
I'm currently letting them use my living room furniture and TV for free until the end of their/our time there.
There is currently $145 of unpaid rent in our account.(Which was due June 1st)
---
She is claiming our apartment complex is "taking us to court" (not true btw - her being dramatic) because of unpaid rent. Apparently they don't realize 3 people are involved/living in our unit. I called and left a voicemail explaining I am fulfilling my part of our rent and the overdue balance isn't my share in it because we are splitting it 3 ways(to my understanding).
I don't know if I just threw them under the bus by saying we have a roommate. But it is extremely unacceptable in my opinion to be making such a huge deal over $75 when they literally have the whole place to themselves. I realize I still have an obligation(which I am still paying for). But this is seriously so ridiculous.
What do you guys think?
.lenconAnyone know how much it would be to replace a center differential on a 03 subaru outback?
its a manual.. buddy is selling his for cheap but the center diff is out and I'm trying to get an idea if its worth to buy and fix.

Titus69Probably like $300 for a good used one plus whatever the labor is, could be better off finding a similar cheap-ish car. Subaru parts are plentiful, if the cars mechanically sound everywhere else it could be worth it.
.lenconYeah everything else is good to go. I'm gonna have him double check on price, but I just wanted to see what others had to say. Thanks dude.

cornholioI'd say legally you and your roommate split the rent on the unit since you're the two people on the lease.
It sounds like the details of the situation weren't clearly communicated before you left. If they weren't then you could very well be being unreasonable.
You should have had him sign a sublease for the difference in rent you think they owe, most places allow sublets and you'd legally have what you need to make them pay. As it is now your complex may think you're breaking rules on your lease and may hit you with some bs fine that you'll be responsible for.
If they are truly going back on your agreement I would cancel any utilities in your name so they have to pay them in full, and stop chipping in on any utilities that might be in your roommates name. If all utilities are covered in your rent then you're boned.
Best you can hope is to talk some sense into them.
MinggThanks dude. I appreciate the honestly.
I left a message with the complex(different time zones and I messed up). I'm gonna go from there when they respond and such.
Everyone I know who splits rent said they go by people rather than rooms (unless they signed a lease designating rooms) so I was going off that. Well just have to see what happens
Titus69Met a stoner ski chick recently, I just need to find my own because my god they're the best.
