MinggWent out to the hill today expecting to ski with a bunch of friends. Didn't meet up with any of them. Met up with like 5 people here and there that I wasn't expecting. Skied some pow. Got a little drunk. Made it home without dying in the snow.(last two aren't necessarily in that order haha) Fuck it feels so good. I love skiing.

Bodhisattva_Definitely pays to be a local. The vibe when I return to my home mountain in Washington is so awesome. Still know probably 65% of the employees there and it just feels like home as soon as I step out of the car. Can hit up my homies on patrol and in the park the night before and get the lowdown on what's looking good what's opening etc. Trying to get in part-time at Bridger Bowl this season so I can start meeting some real ridge rats to show me around.

I sometimes envy these clients/guests I deal with all season long and their super nice million dollar condos but you really cant beat having your morning commute sometimes (more often than not) be a powday. most these people probably deal with bullshit traffic in inner-cities while a Monday/tues/weds/etc. morning for us is a touring session or park laps or fast groomer laps.
not to mention it still blows my mind that our days off are literally what people pay thousands to come do for a week, so that's always rad.
DoleI just started realizing how much I took for granted living the local life in a small ski town. Crazy how fortunate this living is and how blessed some of us are to live in peoples vacation spots. Especially being able to do all of the things you've said above.
With that being said It's come to the point in the semester with finals rolling around and things are wrapping up and it seems like everyones minds are on exams and grades, but to be perfectly honest the only thing I can really focus on is going home. I just can't wait to get out of this Tahoe hubub and get back to no lift lines and fresh tracks all day and simply getting out in the mountains with my homies for a little bit.
.MASSHOLE.So far today I've eaten a banana, apple, some soup, and then a bag of Famous Amos cookies and a bag of Chips Ahoy.
Probably going to have some more soup tonight or fish and then a bowl of ice cream with peanut butter and chocolate mousse (or frosting?) that my brother had left from a cake he made.
If I didn't bike I'd be such a fat ass. Eating like this is why I used to weigh 185 pounds at 5'11.
