SconnieFor fuck's sake. Why does everyone have to comment on my DIN range. NO, I don't need an 18 DIN binding... but I wanted them , they were 1/2 the price of new pivot 12's, and they are more durable. So what?
I mean if you ski at 8 or above and you want an all metal binding and not the piece of shit toepiece on the 12 and 14 I don't see anything wrong with it. Din is din is din and you aren't gonna kill your knees any worse than fucking up at 8 in an 18 din binding than a 12 din binding
I'm not riding them anywhere near 18. I've had my DIN at 10 or 11 for a couple years without a problem. 99% of my falls are horizontal ejections, which is where the pivot heel saves my shit.

Honestly I've come across some good deals on high din bindings cause no one gets them. Just got Attack 16s brand new for $140 haha. I'm not going to ride them near 16, but the low is a 5. So I can ride them wherever really.
Also, you guys realize it's bad to max out a binding? It's better if you can ride a binding as low as possible. So if you usually ride an 8 and find a 6-18 binding for a good deal it makes sense. More durability and less stress on the spring.

No, well maybe, but by the time that it would make any difference the bindings are probably gonna be sitting on your shelf and you are going to be telling you kids about when it used to snow in the winter.
DIN is a standardization, engineers spend a lot of time, money, and testing to make sure that a product will be able to meet these standards. If it were bad for an 18 din binding to be at 18 din then it wouldn't be an 18 din binding.

You guys get it. So many people get their panties in a bunch when they see the fluorescent orange bindings... "your knees will most certainly explode". They are just fuckin great bindings.

Well I figured I could work some sort of Jinxy magic and damn if it didn't work. Forecast wasn't looking good for lifts so I made plans to do a special wine tasting on Saturday. Left the summer tires on my car too even though I had plenty of time to change them last weekend. Well what do you know, just got back from buying my sno-park pass and Timberline announces a limited opening for this weekend.

Pretty sure it's backwards. As long as the forward pressure is set properly. But when you max out the spring, you're maxing it out. That's why in the summer you're supposed to turn your dins down to relive pressure and stress on the spring.
The gym at my apartment is so small and shitty that no one comes here which makes it significantly less shitty. So much better than a crowded gym of college kids haha.
Yeah I feel you. I mean it's not like you're going to ruin your binding if it's maxed out or if you don't turn down the din the summer, but it definetly lengthens the life of the spring. Unfortunately the spring is only one part of the whole binding.
But yeah I'm still a believer that buying a binding where you're on the lower end of the range isn't a bad idea at all. Just make sure FP is set correctly and everything should be fine.

Now that I've switched majors, 4/5 of my classes that I'm taking now don't matter anymore, and it's so hard maintaining any sort of motivation. So ready for this semester to be done.

That's how I felt last semester. Fuck taking el ed courses when they don't mean anything towards a computer science major. It was way too much community participation that I had no interest in.

As far as comfortability goes, I'd go with the vest style over anything else because it moves around the least and you don't really notice its there at all. They're more pricey though so you gotta consider that too. Mine is Poc and I love it, but Slytech also makes great stuff.
