It's 4th of July weekend, everyone's at their cabins getting drunk and setting shit on fire. Oh what fun! This summer I got a job so I could live at my cabin and enjoy how peaceful Lake Vermillion in Minnesota is. Usually the only sounds I hear are waves, wind, and animals. I like to get out in my kayak and put in 5-10 miles a day on uninhabited the north shores, walk around in the untouched woods, and then gaze at the milky way and northern lights by night.
This weekend is different, the population of the lake is 50-70x greater than it normally is. There are a bunch of loud and obnoxious bouts that have no business being here, whining jet skis following close behind. I saw a 300hp pontoon with a Donald Trump campaign flag waving behind it. I took a lot of self control to not shoot a hole in their float tubes. Also Cigar boats don't belong on a northern Minnesota lake, I don't care who you are. Take that waste of your father's money down to the gulf of mexico. If the invasive species these oversized boats hauled in doesn't kill all the fish, the oil and gasoline dripping out of them will.
The 4th of July for me isn't about having fun with family or taking pride in our country. It's just exposing the most disgusting side to humans. Our disrespect to the natural environment is atrocious. Humans have the attitude that we can dominate and conquer the very reason we exist, and that's going to haunt us in the future. Don't get me wrong, I feel blessed to live in the USA, we have a great country with great government services that are keeping the country afloat. My problem is that traditions and attitudes associated with the 4th of July make it the worst fucking holiday out there.

Are any of you fairly unimpressed by rail skiing? I don't want to trash anybody's style, but I get so bored watching edits with 15 similar rail tricks. The small amount of risk as opposed to dropping cliffs and glade skiing doesn't cut it for me.

I feel you. I can appreciate rail tricks, but I don't find them that appealing to watch. I like jumps, powder, natural terrain, etc a lot more.
I'm not one to normally put off studying but I came home today stressed out because I needed to get ready for an exam tomorrow. I said I was going to start looking over stuff after dinner, however, around 5 a storm came by and brought 90+ mph winds which downed every power line on our road and knocked over half of our trees. We then weren't able to get the generators hardlined into the house until 10ish. Just got an email saying class is cancels tomorrow. Fwew.
Has anyone here seen the show legit with Jim Jefferies. I've been putting off starting it for the longest time but started watching it today and I'm hooked.
My roommate takes over an hour to get read, and is uncomfortable with us getting ready around the same time as each other meaning I have 30 min to eat, get dressed, and review assume that every morning because she's a 8 yro who doesn't know how to shut a door so we can both get ready.

No our water runs off a well and it just hasn't rained and the stream next to our house is dry.

Yeah the pond in my backwoods is probably low now. The river that flows past my house from the pond is dry, apparently the air quality is shitty today so I shouldn't do work outside with my asthma.

Looks like we might actually get some rain and cool weather out west this weekend. Might even get new snow on the cascade peaks. Last couple of summers were super hot and dry out here so hopefully this year will be more like normal.

After much contemplation whether to sell or fix I've decided to go to the tuner today to discuss options for a new block in the fozzy! Probably going to have them swap a salvage 2.5xt block in it to keep the cost down, but I have a friend who wants to help me do a full STI swap. Decisions decisions..

That is awesome that you have a short bus. Probably not the best for a daily driver but I bet it is pretty sick for recreation.

Yeah it has seen some shit that's for sure ha. Awesome for ski trips or for going really anywhere with a squad. Commuting in it alone is a pain in the fucking ass though.
