I'll keep this short

I am attempting to start a supplement store (NS'ers will get a discount ofcourse)
I'm still in the very early stages, im thinking of a name, emailing companies about carrying their products, putting money together, etc...

Im coming to NS to ask for name ideas, what companies you would most like to see and a logo. I am located in canada and will be shipping accross canada for sure, and probably the US.

I am also looking to get some extra money so donations would be wonderful :) PM me if you could give up some cash, ill write your name down and if the company is successful hook you up with some rewards down the road.

truthfully, bodybuilding.com has an absolute monopoly on the online supplement business.

there are lots of online supplement companies you can use, but in the end bb.com is ALWAYS cheaper than anything else I've found in 7+ years of buying supplements. I would explore a different idea, you simply cannot compete with the huge suppliers because of the volume they deal out and therefore the lower prices they can afford to offer.

Gaspari nutrition for sure. But it will be very hard to beat bb.com price, but gaspari, all max, muscle pharm, optimum, mutant are all good brand.

I am aware that bb.com does a lot of business and will be tough to beat, but we are thinking of ways to distinguish ourselves.

perhaps looking into a niche like very sports specific stuff?

like supplements aimed for long distance runners and athletes that undergo testing, real pure stuff that won't get anybody in trouble if they're tested.

Thanks for the suggestion but i was planning on the body building type things, more focused on strength, but ill definitely have to give that some thought

What i see becoming more and more prominent in the world is natural medicine. (tinctures, vitimines ect.) maybe doing something with herbs to make natural medicine could be big in years to come

who is your target customer?

why should i buy from you instead of all the other supplement sites and stores?

how will a random person hear about you?

will your site just contain supps or more?





BUT AGAIN< WHY SHOULD I BUY FROM YOU INSTEAD OF ALL THE OTHER COMPANIES AND STORES OUT THERE?

yep, they also give out a lot of free shakers, samples etc on big orders.

props for wanting to start your own business, I wouldnt ever have the balls to do it, but I don't think this is your best path

well actually the only place Ive seen better prices and extras than BB was at a body-building specific store in NJ. It was a brick and mortar tho and they matched any online deals

every point being raised is a good one, and it gives us a lot to think about. We are still completely in the planning stage, thinking of ways to break into the market, and hopefully to be successful.

by the way, when i was asking for donations i meant to add in that i dont expect you to just send me money now, ill only actually ask for money if i truly do need it. pm me if you think you would be willing to lend me some down the road if i absolutely need it.

go to bb.com and see what the top sellers are. THATS a much better representation of what people buy...no asking a bunch of 17 year old, rail skinny kids that have "bought a jug of muscle milk this one time, and it tastes great!"

I think going natural muscle building supplements is a good route. People who buy all natural stuff are used to paying out the ass so you can charge high prices and stay in business. Not sure if there even is natural strength supplements though.
