You can do the same thing in nearly every animal, it is a special spot that releases endorphins (good feelings) when pressure is applied. When I have to braid my horses mane for dressage shows ( something she hates and won't stand for) I use something like that paper holder. (called a humane lip twitch) over her lip/ nose ( the sensitive nerve spot for horses) to get her to relax and ignore me braiding her due to the endorphins. It's really quite convenient,and it as the same effect as drugging them because they become overwhelmed in the "good feeling" and are easily able to ignore what's happening to themselves. However, there's only a 10-15 minute window it can be used in before it begins to cut off circulation.

i can grab my cat by the back of her neck and drag her around on the floor and she doesnt budge. that sounds mean. but its not. atleast i dont think it is.
