Dakine Concourse Double & Flights (+K)

I'm shopping around for a skibag and suitcase specifically for airtravel, and I'm trying to figure out the most efficient combo, the less baggage items the better imho.
I've read the Concourse double packs a lot of stuff, but can it pack everything for an entire week, incl. all clothing? If it can't with two pairs in it, can it do so with only one? Or do I definitely need to get a suitcase aswell, f.e. the 65L or larger 100L split roller.
+k for info!
thanks

Well, it all depends on how many skis you're bringing, if you're bringing two pairs you might as well get a fall line double and another bag, as most airlines charge ridiculous overweight charges for skibags (and other bags) weighing more than 50lbs (23kg)

Yeah I was jus gonna say the same thing...even though I can fit two pairs of boots in my concourse double it's actually better to use a boot bag for weight restrictions.....anyway I got the 200 length one and put the helmets in the extra space....but as a testament to the durability of it...I watched the southwest guys hit a bump with that trailer thingy and my bag and a buddy's bag both fell off the first trailer and got run over by the two trailers attached to it....minimal damage to my skis....jus a scratch on the binding and a sorta scratch on the bag itself....my buddy's stuff was thrashed...he had a Rossi bag though....so the dakine is durable for sure!

This. Some airports (not airlines) will refuse a bag over 23kg completely because it's too heavy for baggage handlers to lift (under health and safety work laws). I packed a Concourse Double with 2 pairs of skis, boots, and all my clothes for a two-week trip and it was about 28kg - they refused it an I had to call my dad to bring another bag to split it into. If your skis are small and you pack light then you might be just under 23kg. With one pair you'll be fine.
The easiest way to get around travelling is a Concourse Double (or similar) for most of your stuff plus a large backpack (legal carry-on size).

You can then get a few bits of clothes and poles in too maybe but it's close no chance of boots too. Just take them on as carry on either around your neck or in a small holdall as you can get two pairs in and they very very rarely check carry on weight. As far as the split roller suitcase it dustnt actually hold all that much, I use a Samasonite holdall with wheels made of like a really tough tarp like material weighs a lot less and cadets nearly twice as much, I use a smaller non wheeled one for boots. I'd go with that combo super good quality stuff and you can sometimes get their stuff at an official outlet store or similar travel store. Sorry for big wall of text I'm an iPhone noob and don't know how to make it return and hence double post

You'll be fine with 2 prs of skis and 2 sets of poles, helmets, heat gun, wax etc....with a concourse double weight wise....it'll hold two sets of boots but you'll be over weight

Thanks for all the comments so far. +k for all!
I checked the airline I would use and they let you take on 35kg which is like 77lbs, for both ski gear and clothing. You can have it divided over two bags..

you can bring your boot on the plane usually. i've seen people bring a backpack and boots, and one person had a backpack and helmet and goggles.

Yeah for sure, I always bring my backpack and boots as carry-on, never had any problems doing that.
All times are Eastern (-5)
