How to get rid of the clicking noise in song on fcp?

Hey ns, making a new edit and I have been listening to the song over and over during the edit and I keep on hearing that weird clicking noise. I dont know how to get rid of it and maybe some of you might know how.

when you play the song in itunes or whatever, is it there?
can you hear it when in fcp?

but really i have no idea, that was still sick though

FCP doesn't like .mp3 files, with some of them, rendering causes this.

Try converting the file to .aff first.

I had this issue a lot a few months ago. Bring the .mp3 into Soundtrack Pro and save as a WAV and then import to FCP. From what I found at the time I had this issue, Final Cut has some problems with the sample rate of certain recordings, or something along those lines. When saving as WAV in SP, I convert to 320 @ 48kHz. This has solved the problem in every project for me so far.

If any of that didn't make sense, I can try to clarify a bit more. Just ask.

You can even do it easier than that (although that way does work nicely too).

Go to your itunes preferences. Then Import settings under general settings. Then select AIFF Encoder, then for setting do custom. You then want your sample rate at 48 khz, sample size 16 bit, and channels stereo.

Then hit ok. Then go to the song you want on itunes and just right click it (cntrl click), and select 'create aiff version" and bam your done.
I find this way the easiest and thats all you need to make it.

Oh wow, that is drastically more efficient. Thanks for the info! Also, is there any sort of quality difference between AIFF and WAV?
