Some people are opinionated and aren't afraid to say what they think.

Although I do tend to see him post negatively on alot of videos which is odd when some of them are very high quality. Putting together a whole movie, and piecing it together to make it flow is alot harder than people think. Making movies, even ski ones isn't just putting the strongest skiers on the start and end of the movie, you have to create a flow, and a timeline that makes sense to viewers.

Alot of am movies and ones that people without a budget make are really entertaining because they're straight skiing and what most people on here want to see. After being on both sides of watching/editing like Eheath has I guess, he probably forms an opinion on it based on what he wants to see and knowing what goes into it?

For me I love ski movies but I've been watching them since I was 12, so for me I prefer a bit of dialogue and a bit of "material" or filler to ski films. I'll still be critical of them but at the end of the day I enjoy most of them even if they're to long or to much of one thing. Except Urban, I honestly think it all looks the same after 30 seconds of it. Unless it's an extremely unique feature.

thats shocking, there are at least 20 movies from the past 10 years i'd say are better than EDIAS, 6-7 of them being older PBP movies...

Brandon kelley is going to be editing the bc segments which I think will be sick. Also, when was the last time Desecare (sp?) was directly involved? I think it was reasons (one of the best IMO) but I'm not sure

honestly the last pbp movie I was stoked on is probably happy dayz, ive seen so many pbp movies that i feel it's always the same shit, no flow between segments. and 10 min segs of the same person dont work out, ill be stoked on watching the movie the first time fro the tricks but no more. Now this goes for every ski movie company out there, I can't wait to watch a ski movie that will flow from start to finish and that i wont want to ski segments. So far, i feel the only ones on the right path is nimbus and there movies are FREE

No, MSPS movie blew everything else out of the water at IF3, I think they did a wonderful job capturing the vibes and personalities of their skiers. It was hilarious and super laid back compared to the traditional seriousness of ski movies.

Revolver was bad, eye trip was really good, Msp was unreal.

I feel obligated to point out Come Find Us, which was not only a quality piece for being an amateur film, but was far better than most top-echelon ski movies I've seen. Why? In my opinion, it was because it was full of beautiful scenery, and had tasteful and honest interviews instead of half baked pseudo-philosophic ones. The scene at the end where they went camping was amazing; it successfully portrayed the lifestyle of skiing without showing hard-lit slow motion sequences of sleds being loaded into trucks put to dubstep, or the like.

Also, the film utilized something I hardly ever see in ski films: consistent design. Lots of ski films now have a medley of rock, rap, and dubstep thrown together. To me this makes the overall flow of the film erratic, and it does not have a specific style because it fails to align itself with a certain "personality." To me, films like Come Find Us and Teddybear Crisis were so great because they both respected and utilized this concept.

yeah you're right forgot about that one, 1242 is one of my favorite ski movies, definetly one of the best ski movies ever made to this day, everyone should see it.

Great post, and it's absolutely true. Not everyone does, or should, value ski flicks on nerdy "film" like criteria, but it is always just fucking rad when a movie comes along that really has an identity beyond "This is the most extreme skiing that went down this year set to extremeepic music". Hotlunch is a good example, as are the ones you mentioned and some others.
