Not even close to what I meant or actual history. We set up the perfect perameters for genocide, how can I explain this simply?
Take a piece of paper and draw random coloured blotches or circles on it, then draw a 4 square grid on the piece of paper.
What you will probably find is that some squares have larger parts of blotches in them than others.
What i am trying to get at is we divided up these parcels of land based on rivers, forests, mountains, deserts, etc with no regard or account for the tribes in the region. We just said "fuck it. from that mountain range, across to that desert and this river will be claimed by France, Belgium, Portugal, Netherlands, UK, US, etc.
So what we ended up doing is separating and dividing tribes and disrupting the balance of warring factions and left some territories with now with 75% of tribe A in the North and now only 30% of Tribe B in the South. While at one time both tribes were at equal strength one is now severely decimated in strength due to new territorial lines.
It is now a prime opportunity for tribe A to come to the South and wipe out the remainder of their long time rival Tribe B and create a genocide in the process.
Why do you think there is so many civilian deaths in Libya due to NATO air strikes? One tribe simply phones up NATO and says "Hey, we think some of Ghaddafi's troops are in this region", when in fact it's an enemy tribe.
