Dull edges FTW (warning, bloody photos)

So, I was skiing yesterday on some GS skis, they were lethally sharp, I prereleased and one ski came underneath me, sliced through my pants, thermals, and most of the way through my hip. So yeah, don't fuck about with race skis! Click for larger image

Definitely not trolling! The stiches I got were running stiches, so they just carried on rather than being individual, one layer for the fat/muscle, one for skin. Apparently if they tried to do it the normal way the anaesthetic would have worn off.

I also tried to go the staff party (It's my first week instructing in Portillo, Chile), I had half a beer, then promptly fainted at the bar. I guess morphine/blood loss/beer is a bad combo.

Seen that happen with Super-G skis. Kid had to be airlifted because it cut an artery and he needed to get blood.

Holy shit looks just like mine i got casing a jump 3 years ago. Sorry for the crappy first pic i had to take a pic of my cell phone with my iTouch. 2nd photo is my scar today

I completely lacerated 3 muscles and lacerated 2 more about half way. I missesd my femoral artery by 1/4th of an inch and if I would of hit that I would of been dead in a couple of minutes. 467 stitches.

Yeah, mostly ass, on crutches, but I can walk now, prob off skis for a week or so. I was lucky I didn't hit muscle.

mm I saw a nice one of these this last year where a boarder fell and his friend ran over his leg, sliced through his snowpants, jeans, some long underwear and right to the bone. at least a racing edge is sharpened well enough where it slices cleanly so it heals really well.

My boyfriend had this happen this season! Didn't dull down the edges on his new fischers, did a hand plant 3, and his ski sliced his leg super bad. I got to watch them put 50 stitches in his leg, super gnar

I just sliced a boarders arm the other day. Stitch worthy for sure and I was using my really dull park skis. He was wearing a jacket too. And he was moving pretty fast so it was a solid 5 inches long
