I rock these everyday. I'm tough on my watch and I hate metal watch. These won't break on me, I can swim, Ride my bike, Work with it (involves flames and grease) and they wash SO easily!
In my opnion: uggggh horrible plastic quartz driven bricks. They may be tough but they aren't good quality unless you want something tough and cheap.
But then i'm someone who likes his watches mostly Swiss, and mechanical.
The latest watch I aquired: A vintage 40 year old automatic watch from Japan:
cool!!!!!!!! does that have an altimiter? How deep can you dive with it? When it gets dark can you use 40yo Japanese dolphin indiglo? How high of a drop can it survive? Any timer functions? Seems like a really awesome watch!!!!!!!
No, I use my phone if I ever want to know that whichy I don't
Up to 100m, hey it's a Diver watch.
The luminicance still works like a charm, yes I can read it in the dark.
I'm not going to drop my watch.
I can use the diver ring but for timing functions i do have a mechincal chrongraph.
I'm not going into a Mechanical vs Quartz argument, I have a few quartz swatches as beater watches myself but the rest of them are all mechincal.
Quartz watches i.m.o., lack soul, charachter and style. Mechanical watches are little works of handcrafted art.
you're totally right, why other watch makers include any features, or even that one with the date( I mean cmon the date? all you need is the fucking time right!!???) is beyond me. And if telling the time is all you need a watch to do, why not get the most value and buy the cheapest watch you can find, since telling time is all it's needed for.
because it also needs to look good. which that watch does. and g shocks don't. unless you match them to your hundreds tee, tisa snapback, and sb dunks.
