first off, dont hate on me if this is a repost of an idea, im rarely in site discussion.

i had the idea, that similarly to facebook or youtube, comments could be rated up or down or given a thumbs up. that would stop threads getting so long simply from posting "this" under a post.

maybe for gear talk, top rated comments could be moved to the top, so the most helpful answeres will be seen first, without having to go through hundreds of posts. likewise stupid or hate comments could be rated down and move to the bottom of the thread.

whats ur opinion on this?

true, the order was just an idea i had. i agree with your point.
but i could see the +1 idea working. maybe another button could be made ontop of the thread, "arrange by" and then the member could press "highest rated comments" and would see the comments with the most +1s first. in 5< page threads this would be quite helpful.

or next to the post count, you could have a +1 count. this would track how many people like your comments. it would show how helpful your posts are.

i really like the idea of having a like button, some comments really make me luagh or that i think are a good response that way i could actually show them that i like their comment insted of having to make a totally new post and look like a post whore aka kangbang

in theory it was supposed to show who is a good member and who is not.

kinda flawed but I still trust buying something from somebody with more then 10K karma over someone with a couple hundred
