How do you find/choose your songs?

I'm not asking for you to find a song for me, but i'm pretty stumped on what song to use for my most recent footage.


So, how do you find, and choose the songs for your edits and films?



I have a big playlist of songs that i like, would like to edit to, or think would go well in an edit that i usually pull my songs from. If that fails i usually go through my itunes on shuffle until i find something that fits the vibe, tempo, etc. of what i'm going for.

Songs just usually come to me and I'll have something I really want to use. If not I'll go to Youtube or Pandora.

I really like music, I go through hundreds of songs a week and many are thrown into playlists of my itunes. I find music on facebook, youtube, ns, thissongissick, other forums and from word of mouth. I also know many artists that I check up on every couple of weeks, pretty lights, the glitch mob, ronald jenkees, skrillex, avicii, afrojack and many others haha. I just really like music

just download new shit on the reg, make a playlist of the songs you think would be good in an edit at first glance, then listen through all the songs thoroughly. when you look at the footage you have you should now know what song is going to match that vibe.

Sometimes it can be mad tough, you just gotta keep your ears open really, sometimes a banger song could be hidden in your music library that you downloaded 3 years ago.
