Soft reset. If you're over 1k you keep youe elo. Those under are bumped to 1k. I'm going to wait a few to play ranked so all the noobs drop their elo to where it should be.

To the people saying Dota or HoN... Don't make me laugh, LoL is by the same creators and it's just an improved and updated version.

To the WoW debate... dude you are stupid. You can't even compare them, WoW is an mmorpg, whereas LoL is a moba. I play both so I'm not biased, they both have their perks imo.

Oh and to people bitching about LoL in general... don't hate on it until you try it. I'll admit even I thought the game looked like shit, but once you actually learn to play it's so damn fun and addicting.

Some sort of jungle or support if your trying to cover every position.

Try Warwick, udyr, or jax in the jungle. And for a support try braum, lux or thresh.

Also that khazix nerf though :(

If you want to get a higher rank just play your favorite champ over and over until you destroy any lane with it. Then you can use the mechanics you learned from that one champ and apply it to any other one.

If you want to gain teh elos I'd say picking up yasuo or kayle right now would be a wise choice. I've been playing ranked gold V soloqueue (horrible I know) pretty regularly for the past week and I have lost quite a few games to good yasuos and kayles that simply stomp their lanes and then make smart choices in team fights. If you take this advice you'll probably want to do at least 10 games for each champ in normals (considering you haven't played either) just to get the basic mechanics down. Once you pick up the play style you should have no problem carrying games :p

Honestly I would stay away from the "OP" champs because they change from being good and bad so often, I.e. khazix has been in the zone since he was released. Better to find a more stable champ like Lee sin, caitlyn, malphite etc. And get good at them. Also in my experience its better to give your team the resources to have them carry you rather than you carrying them. Generally I would trust myself to do well even if I had much less gold than then the rest of my team.

If you're < plat/diamond and you would rather have gold on your team than yourself, then you have to trust your team with decision making in late game situations since you won't be the one carrying them. Prepare to be disappointed when they make bad decisions and cost you the game. I find that having the gold on yourself is almost always better (not when you're 2/8 etc.) since the only thing consistent throughout your games in your own gameplay.

To each his own I guess, I got from bronze 5 to gold 1 on my smurf using mostly supporting champs
