Transitions / which one?

Haven't watched it, I'm gonna say film burn. But I dunno how to do it. I think you film fire, overlay it, and use a different blending option. Google it.

It's a film burn. All you do is download a video clip of one (google) and then put it in your timeline and adjust to your preferred use. They are also very overused and misused.

you can just use overdrive and keyframe it in and out, that's what I used to do, but it doesn't work quite as well as taking a fim burn clip and putting it on the 2nd track and keframe adjusting the opacity. There are plenty of tutorials on youtube that usually include a link to downloading film burn clips.

I have a light overdrive effect on the whole first clip, then i key frame it up and back down on the other clip to make the transition. hope that makes sense.

Hey man, what I do is place my film burn above the shot that I want in my timeline and apply a "luma key" to it. This pretty much makes it the perfect transparency. But if you feel the transparency needs to be adjusted just change the threshold. Also if you worried about the smoothness of the film burn entering and exiting you can right click on the beginning and end and add a cross dissolve to it. Hope that helps!

this is the best way to do it. apply luma key and change it to key out darker and you're good to go
