RIP Tanner Olson

Yesterday the ski community lost someone who showed nothing but love and passion for our sport. Tanner Olson and his cousin trevor were killed in a car accident on the way back from Mt. Hood yesterday. He was only going into the 8th Grade but shredded harder then most people I know. Love and Blessing go out to you boys and your family.

fortunately it was not a drunk driving accident, unfortunately his cousin and his life could have been saved if they had be wearing there seatbelt

The facts have somewhat surfaced now, he had just gotten back into Montana and was heading up to flathead lake right away. The news has said nothing about any drunk driving yet, but that is the word that is going around his family and friends. Either way its horrible and shouldnt have happened to anyone.

Horrible to hear. And you cant really say that they would've been saved if they had been wearing seatbelts, because head-ons are about as bad as they get. Guess it all depends on the logistics of the accident...seatbelts definitely couldn't have hurt though. Tragic. Rest in peace.

Just heard about this through the FB group. Super shitty. Never knew him personally but he sounds like a rad dude. Sucks to lose anyone that young, especially in a car accident.

SIP. I will ride for Tanner as well this summer.

1 week at MHSSC chilling with him allmost all day made a big impression on me and I think everyone there. All I really know now is that he is shredding mad pow with CR and Shane, throwing doubles like no big deal

heres the news article-

Saturday was one of the deadliest days ever on U.S. Highway 93 north and south of Missoula.

Four people died in two separate traffic accidents during the day, one near Hamilton and a triple fatality near Ravalli.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, three people died around 9 p.m. when a northbound 2005 Hyundai drifted into the southbound lane and crashed head-on into a Pontiac.

The driver of the Hyundai, 19-year-old Trevor Olson of Missoula, was killed, along with his passenger and cousin, 14-year-old Tanner Olson, also of Missoula. Neither of the teenagers was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Pontiac, a 22-year-old male from Arlee, was injured in the accident. His 21-year-old female passenger, who was not wearing seat belt, was killed.

The other passengers in the Pontiac, a 4-year-old boy and an infant, were also injured; they too were not wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

That is horrible. I remember seeing Tanner killin it at a Bozeman rail jam, and we were all so impressed that someone so young could hold up in a competition with kids much older than him. SIP

Tanner was one of the coolest/ cockiest/ just about right for a 14-year old kids there ever were. The best part was he dripped style on his bike and his skis, and he was only just getting started. He only got better as I got to know more of him, and I'm so bummed out that we'll never get to know how great he really could've been.

Take care little dude. I'll never have another day at the Bike Doc without thinking of you.

I just found out that it was him who died in the crash sadly I didnt get to meet him but I thought I saw him ski a little he was a great inspiration. RIP Tanner.
