Iphone 4 or Droid?

I have Verizon and I am looking to upgrade my phone is the Iphone 4 worth it without data and calling? and is there a droid that is better? +K for help!

It's all personal preference. the iphone4 is more limited than say a droid x 2, but if you jailbreak your iphone you can do everything the droid can. If I were you, i'd try to get a 4g phone. 4glte is pretty limited now, but if you live in a decently large area/city, you'll have 4glte in the next 6 mo to a year. I think droids are passing by iphone4s now with dual processors and 4glte, but iphone4s are very user friendly/good looking but i think droids are better IMO.

data while calling is an at&t gimmic. Who fucking cares? you never actually have to look something up when you're on the phone.

if you HAVE to have an android phone right now, samsung droid charge, if you can wait for a new phone do so

Having used both I would have to say iPhone. Simply because of the quality of apps in the apple app store. Although the droid apps are getting better I would say 90% of the time they are more polished. Also if you can wait until September get the iPhone 5!

I would seriously consider a Droid if the music/syncing were as user friendly as the iPhone. I love the iPod touch I have in my phone, and it's a big reason I don't switch.

best thing about the iphone is how easy the integration is with itunes. if you like having that ease and want a ipod on your phone get an iphone.

just throwing it out there it doesnt cost any more and verizon has it, but i have used it multiple times and its very helpful. but i would say iPhone 4, because i have the white one and love it

for sure. and at&t's sucks compared to verisons. ive had att iphone, droid, and verison iphone and they are all awesome, but i prefer the verison iphone.

the best advice is to either talk to a friend or find a way to try it out. there are pro's and cons to each. I personally love my iphone, I know I can't do some stuff the droids can, but I really like the interface and the apps, as well as how thay play music/media really well. With that said, it's all about what your needs/interests are, and I know many people who couldn't be happier with their android phones (even if it is only because they get angry birds for free haha). But seriously, talk to friends, try them out, and verizon claims they will be fixing the data/call thing, but it is not a big deal, I rarely use both at once, and I think you can still use wifi while calling. Lastly, if you like the iphone, I would wait for the 5, then either get one, or scan craigslist for a cheaper 4

I have a Droid X and love it. The google maps navigation app is amazing, mucic syncing is actually really easy all you do is click and drag music from itunes onto your memory card. Plus you can download songs strait from mediafire.

See that would be a huge problem for me. I have 25 GB of music on my phone and I legitimately listen to all of it on shuffle. I travel a TON and I need my music, haha. I can't hear the same thing twice in a month or I go nuts. That being said I do make playlists for parties and stuff, so when I hear a good song for one of my list I love being able to modify my playlist right there on my phone and then know it will sync into iTunes when I plug it into my computer.

I have always wondered if Droid could find a way to make the phones iTunes compatible via some backdoor method. It would be sick if you could sync it with iTunes just like an iPhone.

you don't get all the apps for free. apps in the app store you have to buy like always, and most of the good apps in cydia you have to buy as well(unless you are 1337 at jailbreaking like yours truly)

you don't get music for free, fuck just do that on your computer. there are ways to do it with a JB IOS device, but it's slow, annoying, and the selections of songs are horrible.

actually kangbang is right on that one. you can get free apps from appcake and appulous. as well as free music using dtunes where you can download any youtube/vimeo or porn video onto your phone/ipod. it is a very helpful feature when you have a boring ass class.

but to op i would get the iphone and if you could i would wait until septemberish when they release a new iphone, even if you want the 4 it is guarenteed to be cheaper then. no android phone can compete with the hardware on an apple device

One of the main draws for me in regards to the iPhone is having the iMovie app. Normally I edit with Premiere Pro, but I think it would be cool to have the ability to make short, quick edits with friends while hiking around or kicking it at the lake, without bringing your computer everywhere with you. Granted, I'm talking Facebook oriented, non-professional quality stuff, but the kind of movies the people involved are still stoked on. Personally, I'm waiting for the 5, but I've played around with the app in the apple store, and it was pretty cool.

I haven't looked into phones much in a while (I'm also waiting because I'll be getting a company phone, and I need to figure out the details of that), so my previous post made me realize I have no idea if Android operated phones have video editing capabilities. Anyone know or have experience with this?

It all depends on use. Any phone that someone uses alot (3g, calling, etc) is going to have the battery die on them before the day is over. With mild data use, texting and maybe an hr or so calling and i have 50%+ at the end of the day.

....on my droidX, sorry. I know iphone will act the same. One gripe i have is when my battery hits 15% it dies in like 30 mins.

ever heard of google music? up to 20000 songs on the cloud for free. You just upload them to google music and you can instantly stream or transfer them to your phone.

But to the OP. If you can go top of the line I would say go with android. I've had my droid x for a year now and its amazing. I haven't used a laptop since I got it. The droid x2 is suppose to be insane. Like eheath said, Apples apps seem to be a little more polished but android is catching up quick.

I just got done watching some of the Google I/O stuff from this year and you can expect big things from android in the future.
