I got caught smoking weed....By the Popo.

So I was in a park (One my friends and I have smoked at hundreds of times) and a cop car roles up...He gets out, asks us how old we are, stuff like that, then he sees the 2 bongs...blah blah blah he talks about how it's bad, then makes us go in his car. He drives us home, gives us all (me and my 2 friends) $500 fines, and we will likely get 75 hours of community service. And I have a court date.


All that for 2 bongs. Wtf.




My friend said "You will be laughing about it next week"....yeah right, maybe next summer when I'm not grounded.

yeah.

If you're gonna smoke a bong have a method of being able to spot any potential problems from a distance and stash the goods.

And generally don't smoke a bong in public. That's why cheap pipes and blunts/joints are always nice. Easy to hide, and worst case toss that shit.

The cop did not care about the bongs, he (and the court) gave you the fine and CS for being so fucking stupid, in the hopes that maybe, during that 75 hours of area beautification you have ahead of you, the idea that being a complete fucking retard is not a good way to get things done will penetrate into you and your amigo's cranial regions.

Spending taxpayer dollars to have the federal government regulate which drugs people can chose to put in their own system. Ya, spending taxpayer money, and federal regulations on personal freedoms are two things I love to support.

That said, I would be lying to say I have not benefited from DEA money, I think it usually ends up going to a drug regulated by a different federal agency.



The kid was an idiot. The cop knew they were blazed, you can tell in an instant. He probably just busted them because they were dumb enough to a) use a bong in a park/public area, b) leave the bongs out where it could be seen.

The only time I've ever been arrested I also had weed over an 8th and the cops just threw it out because I wasn't acting like a fucking retard, started and ended every sentence with "sir" and did my best to be curteous, helpful and apologetic.  Cops are people too.  Make it difficult and you'll get fucked, show some class, remorse and intelligence and you just might get hooked up like I did and get a slap on the wrist when you should have spent the night in jail or worse.   

Another time I got pulled over WHILE smoking a joint for speeding leaving a touring trip up on Mansfield- I barely had time to put it out.  My driver's window was broken as well, so I had to open up the whole door.  The cop stood there in a billowing cloud of heady skunk smoke while we talked- again, I was as polite and honest as I could be, and he let me go with a ticket for slower than I was going to help me avoid points, and didn't even mention the weed- which was unmistakable.  I had to wipe a little bit aterwards, I thought or sure I was fucked. 

It's all in how you act.  If you can keep your cool and work some jedi mind tricks, then you will fare far better than someone playing dumb, or trying to act like a badass in front of their friends.

Well it was dumb to smoke a bong in the park and do it where a cop could easily walk up, and have no game plan for hiding them well.

BUT


I still blame the cop. If you are enforcing a law that is wrong, it's not right. I don't care about the "just doing his job" bullshit, it's bullshit.

i don't agree with the law either man, weed should absolutely be legal. it's absurd that it isn't.

but still, a law is a law and for all we know the cop may agree with us but at the end of the day he's gotta support himself and/or his family and if he has to ticket a kid for smoking weed he's gonna do it even if he doesn't totally agree with it because that's just life

Well that's fucked up. A good amount of cops out there are only necessary because of the drug war. Fuck their jobs, who cares.

i'm good friends with a pittsburgh city police officer and at his bachelor party i got to meet about 15 other police officers between 25-35 years old. ALL of them were pro-legalization of marijuana and said they would let any small weed charges slide as long as the kid was respectful. they also said their policy on underage drinking is that if the kid can walk on his own they just make them pour out the rest of their drink and send them on their way. at the time i was 18 and they were buying me drinks getting me drunk off my ass. they were for real some of the coolest guys i've ever met. oh, then we went and shot machine guns, no big deal.

yes because writing to them will really accomplish anything. The people in office are fucking awful. We need a change in the system, we need to stop electing these people. We need to stand up as a whole and make it clear what we want. Unfortunately that won't happen anytime soon. Far to many ignorant people in america.

For now marijuana will stay illegal for the same reasons that it was made illegal. Now it also has the added barrier of already being illegal and completely demonized.

And yes if they are enforcing a law that unjust they are wrong. There isn't a grey area there.

i'm sure you've talked to most cops and know personally, right? just because they have to do their job and prosecute someone with bud doesn't mean they aren't pro-legalization.

theres two types of cops, your every day common sense cop who when you treat them respectfully will go easy on you, and then theres the "great whites" who think all teens are sarcastic smart asses and think that weed is the devils lettuce. the thing is, only about 20% of the police force in pittsburgh is that type of power tripping d-bag. the other 80% will cut you a break.

oh, one other type of cop. the lady cop. all bets are off with the lady cop.

but hey, what would i know, i only got this info straight from 15 pittsburgh city police officers.

yup i've heard from many sources that overall pittsburgh pd is very lenient when it comes to personal possession of marijuana. however, most people get busted in the suburbs or other places where all cops=dicks lol.

also, i've been in a parking garage in pit for a car show, taken a bong rip and looked over to see a cop looking directly in the window. scared shitless, i gave him a head nod and he gave me a wave and went on his way lol

Omg, knows 15 police officers located in one place that all work together. This must of course represent the views of all others across the country.

Not saying every person that doesn't believe in legalization is going to be a dick about small amounts of weed either. Also depends on there areas. Some places there is much more shit going on than working about the lowest level stuff.

But seriously, go anywhere between Denver and Chicago or anything south of the Mason-Dixon line and try to get some opinions from police officers. City cops don't care about weed as much because they got more shit to deal with. Most cops don't. If it weren't for minor possession charges they'd be out a job.
