A few GoPro questions

id definitely go with the bigger SD card, and ive mounted it on my helmet and it was fine but can get knocked off, ive also mounted it on a snowboard(never a ski) but the footage came out really crappy probably becuase it was riden on like crappy east coast ice and crud haha.

Were you using the GoPro Hlemet fron mount or strap mount?

front mount, ive never used the strap mount though i would like to try it

If you're shooting with the 1080 HD Hero version and doing 720p @ 60fps or 1080p @ 30 fps, I'd lean toward the 32gb card, although the 16 would suit you alright. I would't recommend lower for that camera.

I'm using the HD Hero 960 version with a 16gb memory card. The camera will run out of battery (150 minutes run time) before the memory card loads up on the highest quality video setting (10min/gb x 16gb = 160 minutes). For that reason, I bought the 16gb card.

As for the helmet front mount, if you mount the adhesive curved mount on the front of the helmet, you can use the front mount in multiple ways. You can use a couple of extensions with the qui and point the camera at your face for a really cool shot, or use one mandatory extension and have it point to shoot in front of you. I choose to use the helmet front mount upside down so the GoPro brand name on the mount is upside down looking at it. By doing this, you can mount the camera to the mount without any extensions needed ensuring the tightest fit.

Alright, so all of these are used on the base plate of the curved adhesive mount attached to the front of the helmet. On top of that mount I am using the quick release bracket in the first two pictures and the helmet front mount in the last two pictures. The video is the helmet front mount flipped upside down as seen in picture 4.

Here's the quick release mount with one extension which is necessary to get the camera to point straight forward.

Here's the quick release mount with 2 extensions to make it point toward the viewer's face. This type of shot can also be done with the helmet front mount (as seen in the next picture) using 2 extensions....

Here's the helmet front mount flipped upside-down without the camera attached (note the GoPro label is upside-down).

Here's the helmet front mount upside-down as seen in picture 3 with the camera pointed forward. I prefer this for shooting action in front of me, because no extensions are used. The more extensions, the more the camera moves around (so many pivot points).

they are definitely worth the money, i use a 16gb class 10 card and it works, but after a day on the hill or tramp it gets maxed out. go with 32 if you have the money, but make sure its at least class 7-8 or it wont perform well.

no such thing as class 7, and technically, you only need a class 4, which is 4 MB/s or 32 megabits a second, and the gopro is only like 17. Class 4's are even the ones recommended on the site, as they still work but are cheaper. you could get a class 6, but don't spend too much money on something that won't make a difference.

idk my friend told me that i had to go higher than 7 so i got a 10 :p it works fine for me but i guess he was full of shit

Yeah, no need for a class 10. Class 4 is recommended and does fine. I wouldn't go less than 4 or spend the money on something more than 6.

I have an 8gig card and its perfect for 1 battery cycle, so unless you're planning on using it somwhere where you don't have a computer at hand, anything from 8gig or bigger will be perfect! (i film mainly 720p60fps and 960p)

^^and class 4 from a reputable brand will work perfect!

Thanks for the advice guys got my GoPro the other day the shop gave me the GoPro HD HERO helmet for the same price as a GoPro naked so that was pretty sweet.
