Black Iridium vs Dark Grey Lens

Black iridium has an amber tint to it, dark grey is a really dark lense that doesnt seem to pop contrast as much. better for a really bright blue bird park day. I can ski my black irids on most days unless its totally dumping out.

dark grey will give you the black look. black iridium will give you a silver mirror look

dark greys still good for average non blue bird days?

no. get a pink iridum or persimmon for those days.

truth, Black irid is best for 80% of days

for average non-bluebird days i found pink iridium to be a lil light. depends on how sensitive your eyes are. i keep fire, drk grey, blue iridium, and yellow iridium on deck (in order from brightest conditions to darkest conditions.)

are two pictures with differeI have a pair of Splices with a black irridium lens, and a friend has the Dark Grey one.

The Black Irridium is a pretty handy lens works in a lot of lighter conditions and it looks great.
It is an amberish colour when light is coming from behind the goggle (not worn) and a dark silver mirror when there is only light from the front (worn of course).

The Dark Grey polarized is really quite dark and only handy for days when the sun is attempting to melt all the snow of the mountain, and they look just black when worn.

that all depends on where your home mountain is. we get prolly 5 or so bluebird days a month at my home mt. so im riding my pink iridium prolly a good 90% of the season. got the black iridum for the other 10%. but then again i like having a lot of light and definition in the snow when i ride, so in the end its all personal preference. i got a buddy who ride his black iridium lens prolly 60% of the season with the same light conditions, so again, all preference.
