Hey Ns! Just want to show you guys my work from my 2010/2011 season!
It was a great season had tonnes of fun and learnt tonnes on filming and editing.

I would like to thank all of you from M&A for getting me where I am now, by critiquing
and shitting on my videos so I can improve them.

Here are all my edits from the 2010/2011 season.
Let me know witch one is your favorite.
Hope to have my demo reel ready sometime in september (if I make one).

DAMN Zac these are dope. The Sandy Boville and Joey Spencer edits are my favorite, especially the story behind Joey's, very touching. How old are you like 16/17?

Dudee these are all so sick, the first is my favorite tho, i like what you did at 00:45 to like 1:00 but the whole thing is so good, keep up the good work!

Not trying to be a dick zac, but you've made threads for like all of your videos and posted them all in the video section twice now, its pushing shameless self promotion. I suggest making a 10-11 reel vs posting all of your edits in one thread. It will be much easier for people to give you feedback if you just have one video that shows your up to date style/skills/etc.

zac does promote himself a lot, there's no denying that.

then again, how do you think he gets hooked up with free shit and gets to film the top riders around whistler? he promotes himself and makes his work known. if you want success in the film world, you have to be willing to shamelessly promote yourself.

Yea I agree, I do promote myself a little to much.
I remember back when I posted them in M&A all the time, I tried to cut back on it for sure.

I'm gonna disagree to a point. Yes, its good to get your work out there and promote yourself but i think that connections in the industry are much more important. Sure, you have to have the work to back you up with the connections, but the connections get you the jobs.

I think it's safe to say i haven't really been one to self promote myself very much, a few critiques here and there, all of my jobs have come from having good material and making connections. That's just my experience though, i got pretty lucky in some cases so it might just be me.

I just hate shameless self promotion on the lines of "check out my shit im the best!" or creating a ton of threads about your videos that the regulars in this forum have already seen.

god damnit you are only 14. i dont even think i knew what an slr camera was back then. but then again i didnt grow up in whistler of all places. just boring chicago. oh well. you got some nice edits there kid.

i don't want to sound like a dick but i also don't think you were filming with pros and getting free shit when you were 14....zac's got a big future ahead of him and in my opinion he's playing his cards right


unfortunately having good material has very little to do with getting most jobs in the industry. all about connections and promoting yourself.

I agree more on the side if will, in this fight, but evan has a good idea of making a reel. Most people on this forum have seen your videos several times, and yes they are very impressive. So use your skills to compile an edit with all your footage.

Post your edits everywhere, I wish I had the same resources that you do now when I was your age, but definitely take advantage of it all. So post your stuff to vimeo, facebook, ns, twitter, you're own website, burn it to dvd, whatever else you can think of

I was stoked to see this thread because I was expecting a 10/11 reel, but its just the old ones again :(


With all that footy I cant imagine it would be very difficult making one, you should do it up!!!

no offence Zac, your videos are sick and i love them! but as you probably remember on facebook (im chris goodhue) we had a little argument, i think that its good to post your edits and ask for help and stuff but when it comes to multiply threads with alot of self promotion it gets annoying, just like random facebook posts

but i totally know where your coming from because u want to make it BIG! and i think we all do

so keep up the awesome work!

I find my inspiration to edit in music, you should give a few songs a reall hard listen and maybe it will come to you.

I was gonna use this puppy some time this season but never got around to it, didn't really fit the vibe of the riders/footy. I think it would work well with the shit you got, especially sandy's shots.
