I grabbed a free military hop last week to Hawaii and spent 7 days there doing all kinds of awesome stuff from surfing, to drinking on the beach, to hiking, to cliff diving in a waterfall, etc. Epic win. Well Hawaii happens to be quite sunny, so the T2i LCD screen is a good way to watch what I'm shooting but I obviously can't see much in detail when I play the shots back. Well I got back to my laptop recently and was devastated to see my shooting improvement....and a weeks worth of shots with a black spot in the center of my screen. I had dust on my sensor all week. Fuck my life. These sots are memories, but are useless for making movies like I hoped (unless someone knows a magic way to edit that out, haha).
I learned:
-Check my shit before I leave, this took about 30 seconds to fix with a Q-ball when I found it.
-Take the time to review the shots in good lighting if I can't see them, I could have at least caught this on day one if I check the shots out in the shade.
-You really do only get one chance at this, I probably won't get any footage like this again any time soon.
