"Behavior modification center" in jamaica for trouble youths. Place had all kinds of abuse going on. A phish friend just shared this story with me. Figured I'd pass it on. He was there for a year, many were there much longer.

the thing is in Holes she had a purpose for the kids. Albeit it was slave labor, there was a goal and a purpose for their even being there. This is fucking weird because what is the point? What is the purpose of keeping them there and ruining lives?

Well he was doing drugs and addicted to weed so they needed to scared him straight before he hit the next step which was robbing stores and oding on heroin.

Parents are shitty at parenting. You should have to have some general knowledge of life to have a kid. They thought they were doing the right thing. Saving their son before it got to be too late.

Crazy shit but it happens too much. People getting kicked out and sent to rehab for smoking weed or drinking a couple beers.

Well yeah I understand sending your kid to one. A couple have my friends got sent to similar places but not the gnalry Jamaican one. I mean the people running the camp, what was their motive for keeping kids there for 4 years and basically torturing them? That's a hell of a lot more than teaching them a lesson about life and how to behave.
